Thanks for the report. The code box should be working as expected now.
Thanks Justin
I think the increased vertical size has to do with the line spacing increase.
Can it be set same as the old? The new really spreads out the page.

It seems the general consensus is to tighten it up a bit so I just decreased the line-height a few px. It should be closer to Gallery Black now.
It is the purpose of life that each of us strives to become actually what he is potentially. We should be obsessed with stretching towards that goal through the world we inhabit.
And... surPRISE!! I knew it was coming, but hadn't been following threads to know it was today
I think I like it, even if I'm not a fan of the "think bubble" styling on posts. I must admit, i've always really liked the super-plain, Old Dgrin black, clean layout, so it may take me a while to get used to this.
I think it is GREAT that you've made the tutorials more findable - major +1 on that!!! I also like the slight regrouping of various boards; it makes more sense to me this way.
Stupid question (and if I'm just being dim and missed a post/link to this somewhere else, apologies in advance): is there a choice of skins, and do they only change colours, or do the various icons etc change too? Tx in advance!

NO question is stupid. Look down at the bottom, you can change between dark and light. That's it.
Eeeennteresting. I prefer the text in the light, but photos look better on the dark (plus I'm used to the dark with dgrin). I keep "reading" the think-bubbles as quotes instead of the main text, so it will take me a little while to reprocess that visual info. Why is it that the simplest UI changes always feel like a Huge Big Deal, even when, really, they're not??!
Good job guys. I know it's an impossible task to keep everybody happy when you make a big change like this, so well done. I hope that it offers you mods functionalities that make your admin jobs easier, too!
ETA: I will say this, it is much faster to process posts! The only thing I think I actually *don't* like is the colour gradient in the banner. I must confess to really liking dgrin's all-black/grey, because it goes with ANY photographs that appear at the top. Hardly a big deal, but fwiw.

Oh help. I didn't know this was coming. Ok, I just looked & looked & looked... could not find any place to change the color at all. Finally found the spot.... way at the bottom right for anyone else who's stumped. It says: DGrin 2.0 Black. (or "White", depending what you had it set on originally I guess). I suggest making that a lot easier to find-- it's highly unfriendly UI... who would know that it means you can change the color? Anyway, I'm not a happy camper right now. The nasty "colors" are terrible to read. I thought we were going to have some replacements for the old colors. Instead we have two severe choices... a very bright white that's terrible on the eyes, and a very dark charcoal with bright white print that's equally hard on the eyes. Please, I beg you.. find a way to give a couple of medium choices with at least a faint hint of color. I've been looking at this for 20 min. & my eyes are already shot. And I have 20/20 or better & don't wear glasses or have any eye issues.
Beyond that, I don't understand why we need to take up even more space with each post than we used to... our signatures got trimmed awhile back to save space, supposedly. But these frames & the space between lines just take up space, so now we're paging & scrolling more than ever. That's counter-productive, & it means there was no reason to trim sigs. Next question: where do I go for the old "You" thing, which was ever-so-helpful ? If there's something like it, I haven't been able to find it. Off to look some more...

All of the answers you're looking for are in our FAQ, which is listed in the navbar, under "More". The old "You" was actually your control panel, which is the clipboard icon to the right of "Welcome, (user)" message.
Sorry you're not happier with the look. Hopefully you'll find some things you do like!

Ahh, yes, I see it now. More icons for the important stuff.. I should have guessed. I'm glad it's still here, but since there's a bunch of empty space in that bar anyway, 2 obvious words like "My Threads" would be truly grand in accompanying the little icon!
For the record, it's not the "look" that bugs me. In a forum, I don't care much about the look, no matter how spiffy it is or isn't. It's almost100% about the usability... how friendly it is. I'd guess this is typical for most of us. If hard on the eyes, boohoo. If 111 posts are taking up 11 pages & could easily take up 7 instead, boohoo again. I thought the whole siggy trim was cuz we cared about this. Now suddenly it seems we don't care.
I hadn't noticed the absence of the "You" button until Allen mentioned it. I use that one every single day--will there be an equally easy way to find my posts? You mentioned the profile will be available but that takes a couple of clicks to get to it. What will be the best (i.e., fastest) way to track my posts/threads?
Guys, my first reactions are awareness of the quality work and great care that is just so plain to see in DG2, and how you are handling the cherished values of DG with the kiddest of gloves!:Dlust
Well, I have mixed feelings about the new look. It's a cleaner design visually, but it's almost as heavy as vb4, and I was shocked to see it's actually vb3.
The times when I'm front of my big monitors the spacing won't bother me one bit, but on tiny 1024x768 screens, it's a real bother. Half of my screen is white space. With a lot more page up/down to find and read the content.
Very sophisticated work for just a style, and I'd be interested in knowing what non-SM companies worked on it. They obviously know vb very well and would be someone I'd be interested in working with for a redesign of my own vb3 site.

Am liking it so far
I like the new look, the quick reference bar at the top and the organization of the forum groups. It makes so much more sense, as does finding the tutorials more easily here. Way to go, guys!
The minor glitches / complaints that people are raising seem to be just that - quite minor. And, from personal experience, it is utterly impossible to please everyone.

You would just click the FAQ, sticky in this forum, or from the top navbar "More" link. And there you'd find this thread http://www.dgrin.com/showthread.php?p=1620137#post1620137 You also get this on the sidebar on the forum homepage.

Nice polished look to 2.0. Thanks for all the hard work.
Is there a way to display the # of views of a thread? didn't that use to be part of the grid listing of threads?

No, it's not. There's some back-end stuff that we need to get done before we flip the switch. Should be real soon, though!

Pictures at the top aren't rotating. Not that I'm complaining too much as one of them is mine but just wanted to let you know.
