    Happy days. Updated to 10,000

    Michael,

    The /keyword page indeed shows more than 255 keywords but when I insert a Keyword Cloud widget onto a page, things get weird. When I type a number greater than 255 into the Max Number field I see a display of however many keywords while the control box is open, but I can't click DONE to save. When I do so, I get the red "Keyword Maximum is 255" message and the DONE button doesn't work. Is this the intended behavior -- 10,000 keywords apply only on /keyword and not in the widget -- or is there a bug in the implementation? (I hate to toss up a flag here because I do very much appreciate having the full list available on /keyword.)

    Hi Jim,
    The change that went out earlier is only for the /keyword page. The keyword cloud content block still has a 255 keyword limit so what you're seeing is expected.

    The "Related keywords:" are exactly the same as the "Combine with:" keywords?

    example
    Related keywords: sandhill crane shorebirds birds in texas whooping crane birds in indiana hooded crane bird_videos deer cattle egret
    Combine with: +sandhill crane+shorebirds+birds in texas+whooping crane+birds in indiana+hooded crane+bird_videos+deer+cattle egret

    EDit: 2nd thought it might be ok .. although no videos will show on a keyword page.

    I may be wrong, but I believe that's the way it's always been, Allen.

    If you click on one of the "Related" keywords, you're taken to just images with that keyword. If you click one of the "Combine with" keywords you'll see all the images that have both your currently viewed keyword and the new keyword.

    Thanks, Chris. While I thought it worth checking, I kind of expected that. The list display in the widget could easily display 10,000 words but it would have been a real stretch for the graphic cloud display to do so. By the way, I'd also like to thank you folks for restoring the "From" link on the keyword result pages.

    I edited my post before you replied and agree it's ok. Just looked funny at first.

    Are we going to get the KW count when hovering a keyword? This was very useful on legacy.

    If you are still using my hack to extend the keyword list limit, that is currently not working, as SmugMug is not currently including photos in your sitemap: (not sure if that is temporary or permanent)

    http://dgrin.com/showthread.php?t=245140

    You should revert to use SmugMug's keyword block instead, which as noted, now supports plenty of keywords without hacks.

    Thank you Nicholas. I cannot figure out how to revert to SM's default keyword list. I see only the cloud block. What does one do to set up a normal keyword page? I have only ever used your customization.

    Ah, sort of got it. I removed the Feed, and some of the CSS customization, and the keywords re-popped into the page. Did not realize I still would use that specific URL.

    I left this code in the CSS, and all of it is working except the instruction to use 20px font size. Would it be possible to post what code should replace the following:
    .sm-page-widget-feed .sm-feed-item-description {
        max-width: none !important;
        font-size: 20px;
    }

    .sm-page-widget-keywords a {
       color: #000 !important;
    }
    .sm-page-widget-keywords a :hover,
    .sm-page-widget-keywords a:hover {
       color: #247AFF !important;
    }

    Thanks.

    And if I don't want the "ransom note" style font weighting variations, i.e. all keywords displayed as 'normal' font weight? Your (or anyone's) assistance appreciated! :D

    Every KW is assigned the class "sm-keyword-one" now. On legacy they were assigned "sm-keyword-one",
    sm-keyword-two, all the way up to ten.
    They were assigned according to the count. The largest quantities were assigned ten. Also the text size/color
    varied from, ten, largest and down. You could hover any KW and in the popup could see the quantity.

    I'm figuring they designed the NewSite using greenhorns that didn't have a clue
    what legacy had. Another subtraction of the great things we had on legacy.

    Thanks. So I tried -

    sm-keyword-one {
    font-weight: normal;
    }

    but that didn't appear to work so it's obviously wrong. Any ideas what CSS code I should use?

    Try the code below. SM seems to attach ten levels of keywords to my list so I've included ten classes here. It looks like the most frequently used keyword is flagged with .sm-keyword-ten, the second most used with .sm-keyword-nine and so on. All those except the top ten have .sm-keyword-one. I have a color property in there just to indicate one can have all sorts of things in this sort of declaration.
    .sm-keyword-one,
    .sm-keyword-two,
    .sm-keyword-three,
    .sm-keyword-four,
    .sm-keyword-five,
    .sm-keyword-six,
    .sm-keyword-seven,
    .sm-keyword-eight,
    .sm-keyword-nine,
    .sm-keyword-ten {
    font-weight:normal !important;
    color:red !important;
    }

    Perhaps somebody with a little more CSS background than I can get this to work without the !important flag, but I couldn't find a class declaration that that let me avoid it.

    I inserted CSS for ten-five. I have close to a 1000 KW's and only one of each color showed in
    the list. I find this useless.

    .sm-keyword-five {
    color:purple !important;
    }
    .sm-keyword-six {
    color:pink !important;
    }
    .sm-keyword-seven {
    color:green !important;
    }
    .sm-keyword-eight {
    color:blue !important;
    }
    .sm-keyword-nine {
    color:yellow !important;
    }
    .sm-keyword-ten {
    color:red !important;
    }

    Just edited my sample code after reading Allen's post. I left out a comma after .sm-keyword-nine. BTW, I agree the current "ransom note" implementation adds very little. -- Jim Ringland

    On your whole list of gobs of KW's I only see two "white", no other color?

    You might sneak in this in CSS. Would make your list nicer I think.
    .sm-keywords-list {
       text-transform: capitalize !important;
       text-align: justify !important;
    }

    Thanks for picking this up, but I didn't want any. I found there was a comma missing in supplied code after "nine", now fixed!

    See the CSS in my last post. All you need is .sm-keywords-list to apply to the whole list.
    .sm-keywords-list a {
      font-weight:normal!important;
        color:#8e9192!important;
        border-color: #4392A9 !important;  /* pipes between KW's */
      }

    .sm-keywords-list  {
       text-transform: capitalize !important;
       text-align: justify !important;
      }

    Added pipe color too CSS, actually right border color, between each KW to coordinate with your logo.
