Hey now, there ya go! Is it driving ok? Nice color, it looks good, like 1,000,000,000,000,000,000 better than the smurfmobile
Actually it's more like (Smurfmobile + 1) x 1,000,000,000,000,000,000 times better because anything time 0 is 0. Also, it looks like Zac is getting the hang of this photography thing, looks like it really does run in his blood.
And definitely take a tour through the navbar on the left at this site.
You're kidding right? 107 galleries of the same car!?
I saw the beefier plate, and yeah, it's beefier. But I'd have to drive it myself to really believe that it wasn't in your head. It's a very minor mod in a location that quite honestly doesn't effect the rigidity too much. Hey, if makes it feel better to you

Ha what a coincidence! I was there around 3 or so. We should meet up sometime and do Route 2 sometime.
I rolled through a bit sooner - wanted to make my loop to Lake George and back down to Troy so I could hit up Max BMW before they closed. Did you notice how mobbed downtown was Manchester yesterday? Crazy shoppers.
Rt2 already had plenty of salt on the sides - so probably won't be doing too many more spirited rides through there this year. I'd be up for a meet and drive, for sure.
I knew, of course, that trees and plants had roots, stems, bark, branches and foliage that reached up toward the light. But I was coming to realize that the real magician was light itself.

Last time I checked, the Prius was front wheel drive. Why do you have a channel that runs the length of the car? I'm not being sarcastic, I really can't figure out what this channel is or does. Anyone?
The exhaust in my '86 VW Jetta fit into a channel under the middle of the car. There was a great big stainless pipe that ran from header to muffler right under the middle of the car. As did e-brake and shifter linkage.. possibly the brake and gas lines too IIRC. The Jetta had a nice big trans hump between the seats. Me thinks my buddy's '03 Jetta does as well.
From the pix DavidTO linked, looks like the channel on the Prius works this way too.
Spent Saturday tinkering w/ the autos. Installed Sirius radio kits in both 'truckzilla' and the new Miata. Commutes should be a little easier now.
Ahh, life could be worse!
Yep, 100% geek..
Also scored a new set of Blose speakers for the Miata for the cost of shipping. Some random guy contacted me through Miata.net and offered them up to me. So looks like I'll be keeping the factory audio setup in the Miata fer a bit longer than I had expected.
I dunno, thought you all might find this interesting after our talk about K&N.
From my prius forum:
As I've posted many times, not only is the Prius a fuel-efficient 4-cylinder, but it's also a Miller/Atkinson cycle engine, which means that it closes its intake valve late and *never* gets a full charge of air and thus requires even less air than any standard engine.. My calculations say that even at max RPM (which is again, not that high- 5000 RPM), the Prius engine requires less than 250 CFM air flow, which is easy for just about any air induction/filtration system, including the stock Toyota system, to provide. Thus replacing the filter with a higher flow version does not net *ANY* benefits. The only benefit of the K&N in a Prius is the fact that it is washable and reusable, but as mentioned, watch out that you don't over oil it- too much oil will kill your air flow sensor, and it will cost you a couple of hundred for a replacement- one air flow sensor replacement will eat up all the lifetime savings of a washable filter, so be careful!
The only reason I have one is that I noticed water tracks in the air box after driving in wet weather and from experience using vacuum cleaners with washable filters that are not quite dry, I know that wet fiber media filters show dramatically increased flow resistance (not from dirt, but because the fibers swell when wet, and also because of water films across the small openings, both of which combine to severely restrict airflow)... Thus I drive with a K&N during wet weather as the oiled media can handle the water better (oil repels the water so it doesn't soak or clog the media), and the air particulate count is much lower during wet weather so I don't worry as much about dirt getting through, and then in the spring and summer, when it dries up and there's much more dust on the roads, I'll swap in a genuine Toyota filter..
I dunno, thought you all might find this interesting after our talk about K&N.
From my prius forum:
Interesting - and verifies what I suspected: that little Prius engine gets more than enough air. Personally, if I saw water in my airbox on a new Prius, I'd bring it back to the dealer and have them deal with it under warranty, or at least report it. You'll always get a new O2 sensor under warranty if you're using the OEM air filter, maybe not if you're using something aftermarket (just my guess).
It stalled in the middle of the bridge and you can't get any tow trucks to touch the darn thing anymore so you paid the city to put up a sign letting everyone know that it is such a POS that no one can use the bridge anymore cause that faulty german engineering left it stranded there?

Yeah...
Or its an interesting p-chop since the bridge and the car are similar colors (Calypsorot).

Yeah, my detroit buddies and I have been waiting for that car forever. Even five years ago when we all were in the biz together, we knew it was "coming"... I'll believe it when I see it. You're right, awesome car.
This video seriously put a big grin on my face. There were 3 "special edition" M5's made. One was the Jahre edition, which they made 20 of. Very good quality video and great music, I recomend you watch it.

No engine sound, much of the tape has either been sped up or slowed down, and the guys not even that good of a driver (it's faster to make it around a turn without bringing the tail out of line children, learn to setup tire pressures to counter-act handling problems).

It could very well be in my head.
Yeah, it's a sickness for some of these folk.

That guy really, REALLY, loves his car.
Clicked on a couple of the many galleries. This is actually a pretty cool shot:

Whether or not it's a waste of money. Whether or not it actually improves thte ride, or if it's just a placebo.

Yeah, but those ones are factory seconds where they put the steering wheel on the wrong side.
