Awwwwwwww, c'mon Skippy! How about one of those macro bugs shots of yours???? We know you've got some great images to work with!!!! Sorry, skip, I just caught that you don't have access to masks....bummer. What software do you use????
I've got Elements three but I get to a certain point then Im stuck cause of not having masks........ I don't know the work around for the steps where you should have a mask....... Skippy (Australia)
Geez Mog, now your just plain showing off
That is one amazing shot gawwwwwwd, and you even included the water droplets as well I can see this thread is gonna be real popular with folks producing these simply stunning images.
Really this shot is a Beauty Well Done! .... Skippy (Australia)
Okay all you folks who have PhotoShop Elements 3 you can do this OOBstuff too all you need to do is download the free plugin that gives you CURVES from ..... http://www.earthboundlight.com/phototips/photoshop-elements-curves.html as the package includes MASKS as I found out accidently after many hours of frustration trying to figure out how I too could do OOB's not having access to PhotoShop CS.
Here's my try at this very addictive technique....enjoy... Skippy (Australia)
OMGoodness....this thread is so cool! These are the neatest pictures!!
I want to play too....can this be done with Paint Shop Pro XI?
I won't get PS Elements 5 until the end of the week and I do not know if I can wait!!!!!
They need to have a "biting fingernails" smilie. That's what I do everytime I come to DGrin....I just get so excited!!!!

Hi there the tutorial can be adapted to other programs, it's a matter of finding out if your program has work arounds or the same tools, just located in a different area of your drop down menus.
I just brought PhotoShop Elements 5 as well, I don't have mine yet either.
It can be pretty frustrating when you see things get posted on Dgrin that you wish you could do too... if only you had the right tools ... oh well ..
I hear ya........yep I hear ya ..... Skippy (Australia)
Oh, yay! These are REALLY cool. My clicker finger is tried from all the clicking to add the mask though!
Here's my first try. (If it wasn't 11:40 and if I didn't have to be up by 5:30 I could see myself doing this for hours!) Thanks for the link to the tutorials!

This is more addictive than sugar hehehehe ...... your image looks great ... this has been quite a fun THREAD I must say, and it's drawn a lot of interest, all because one person shared what they had learnt and their resources.... yep thats why I love this Forum ... Skippy (Australia)
Anyone know how to get all those little hairs on the legs, paws, and ears like that? I can't image that he clicks every pixel. Someone mentioned something about a "fur" brush??
O.K. I Oob'd instead doing other things that needed to be done....
Wasn't sure why it did not look quite right. I see that the other posted images have frames that are wider--will do next time--and there definitely will be next time, and a next, and so on, and so on....:ivar

Hahaha your hooked too you will just get better and better at it, there's quite a few steps to follow in that tutorial but gosh its a lot of fun with really pleasing results .....that's the part that makes you want to do more ....... Skippy (Australia)
Here's one I did last night, I sent this to my mother this morning, she made this dear little bear for me several years ago, it's all hand sewn too, I'm sure she will enjoy it ....... Skippy (Australia)
I thought this would be easier than the first one...nope.
So, I like my first one better, but since I spent way too much time on this I 'm posting it anyway!!
Photodoug, love the cat nap
Everyone is doing awesome, very neat idea and fun for everyone :ivar
** also, I have photoshop 6.0 and I can't find the "warp" to warp the frame. Does 6.0 not have warp or is it just hiding somewhere?
