There was a cow parade in Tokyo during the summer. I wanted to practice the technique and this one was the first I found that would be suitable. It cuts out a lot of background distractions, that's for sure.
And this nice, centered image I did for skippy:skippy
:D:D
Edited to correct a shadow issue....
I noticed a few people have these really nice shadows. Are you guys hand drawing them in there with the paintbrush or am I missing something? Either way, looks great!!

In the second tutorial for OOBing it shows you how to draw in the shadows, but Im not sure that is what everyone is doing.

Fantastic OOB's!
Hi fellow editors...I literally stumbled into your awesome thread of OOB creations, very nice work!! I always enjoy seeing others takes on creating OOBs.
Here are a couple of my latest...
A full size T-Rex recreation at a local museum. I used a three shot HDR for the Rex and inserted him into a new background.
The cannon is at a doctor's clinic nearby and I thought I would add a little action to the shot by adding the cannon ball.

Ohhhhhhhhh my goodness those are Brilliant :jawdrop
They are both amazing, but that last one with the Canon Ball going through the paper is really clever
Welcome to the Dgrin froum Serrator, I'm sure you will enjoy searching through the many threads on all the forums, and boy are we looking forward to seeing more from you ...... Skippy (Australia)
Serrator, Awesome OOB's. I went to your gallery--WOW!! What a creative mind you have. Makes me want to take mine to the next level--However, that would take settimg aside some time--does anyone know where I can find some:D ?
Ok, this is my first post in this forum, but i was reading it for a long time, and i like it very much. I was stunned, when I saw this thread and, so I decided to give it a try...

Make this a sticky?
Hi Skippy! Happy New Year to you from half way around the world!
This is such a great thread do you think you could make it a sticky so more people will have a chance to see it? My family made donations to my special fund for Christmas and I except to become the proud owner of CS2 very soon. :ivar I'll have lots to learn but, boy, it will be hard not to give the OOB's a try first thing. I've already downloaded and printed out the tutorials! Gotta try it.

My first oob!
This thread rocks! Thanks to Skippy for the link to the masks and curves for those of us with PSE. I found this thread yesterday, and wanted to show my result after playing around with the technique.
I was perfectly fine with my camera until I found this place. :evil :dunno
Hey, Wingin'It, that's a really cool one. I just think you could have extended the frame down a bit so that those people at the bottom aren't cut in two. Good job, anyway!

Glad your enjoying the forum, nice to see you here, and hope to see more of your postings .... Skippy
Inspired by this thread I thought I would have a play in Elements 4. The first thing I needed to do was find a layer mask plug in (the one listed earlier only goes up to Elements 3). Here's a link I found:
Cool OOB on the rock arch! I was there in Arches National Park this last summer and every view is a photograph. I hope to get back there this summer and perhaps camp out under the stars in the park.
The horse and warrior OOB is another great job! Nice subtle curve to the frame as well...works well.
...and the little predator bird OOB is a great start too!
