I, for one, am getting weary of the thought that Canon can't bring the product line closer. A camera like the 5D should behave more like a 1D in my opinion.

I don't know, maybe that and the old 16.7MP chip from the 1Ds II would make the first cheap full frame camera?

Did anyone notice that the Camera in the flash teaser has no mode dial
like the 1D series cameras while the website with the moon shows a
camera that has such a mode dial? Does it mean that two new cameras
are coming?

The flash teaser on .co.uk didn't have any of the top controls. It's just a shape that says Canon on it.
I think there is a new camera ready to go for Photokina, but Canon is having way too much fun laughing at our reactions. Smile!

I'll bet there is something to September 15 being the date that they make the announcement. That date happens to be "Tsukimi Matsuri" (Autumn moon watching festival), which Japanese companies like to incorporate into advertising. For example, check out this McDonalds ad for their Tsukimi burgers (foods with round moon-like objects, such as eggs, are popular at Tsukimi Matsuri).
