Wooo. Have ordered mine from the local pro store already. No idea how much it's going to cost me but it'll be worth it if I get anything like the 3 years of solid love I got from my 5D.
I've just had an e-mail from Quality Camera Sales Australia in WA, with whom I've dealt in the past, saying " no pricing yet, but expected to be around (AU) $3,999".
Their web site states that "this product was added to our catalog on Sunday 14 September, 2008"!
Well...I'm happy for all you full framers...it was a long wait.
Since Canon replaced the 40D so quickly and is really lagging behind Nikon...I can only hope that the 1Dmk3 successor is on it's way. More reliable af and better high iso performance...I hope.

I was hoping for bracketed exposures beyond 3 shots (like at least 5). But it didn't happen with this model. Overall, it makes my 40D look a little older. I need to cobble some fund$ together for this, along with a couple more worthy len$e$.

Yes, I agree, this is one of the "whynots", along with the 10sec/2sec timer still linked to the MLU function . At least they have added an IR RC, which would make it great for studio shooting, too, since you still can't trigger the damn thing with PW without much hassle...

I haven't had any trouble triggering mine with a PW.
My only complaint there is that I have to use a PW rather than my Sekonic flash meter as a transmitter when triggering the shutter (why? I dunno). When I am in the studio I am often using all my PWs for lighting, so I do end up using the TC-80N to trip the shutter more often than not.

...And the dedicated (or programmable) mirror lock up button.
As for the IR remote, I would bet pixels to donuts that a programmable TV remote could be made to trigger the shutter. Once the 5D2 is on the street, it won't be long before someone posts which A/V device and model will trip the thing.

Oh yeah, that too...

Thanks for the info! I'll definitely be upgrading, but I'll probably wait till next year.

Photo Video in Christchurch.
(Okay, somewhere else I saw mention of "improved weather resistance".) I'm sure I still want one.

Indeed, I noticed that too on the specs. Would 10mm be considered lightly raining, normal rain, or downpour?

Whew! That wasn't on the press release I read last night.
