DSS 94 - Last Minute Possibilities
So many fine shots in the gallery already! I've had little time to pick up a camera lately but grabbed a few shots that might work for this challenge. I would appreciate any C & C you'd be willing to offer. The first shot illustrates rhododendron leaves indicating the cold temperature by hanging downwards - at an angle.… -
Discrepancies between Google Analytics and SmugMug Stats
Please disregard this post, as I found the (user) error. Sorry about that. Hi, I'm noticing discrepancies between what Google analytics reports and what the Sumgmug Statistics page reports. For instance, I have 3 days (July 8, 9 and 10) where GA reports 1, 0 and 0 hits, but the stats page reports 8, 94 and 98 views… -
Pricelist pricing calculation is uhmm.. screwed up?
So, if we go in and set desired profit, there seem to be some weird voodoo calculations going on and I'd love to know where my money is going? So, digital downloads are $.49, we know this.. If I go in and add a profit (with "Don't Round" selected) and set my profit to $.39 my customers price is $.95 Which I'm guessing is… -
DSS #94 - Sidewalk and Building re shot. C&C welcome!.
Well I got a chance to head downtown again and re shot both of my previous images. The sidewalk was a major pain to process but I did the best I can do. I almost want to enter the sidewalk just because it was so hard to make work! But I really like my re shoot on the buildings. What do you think? Any comments at all are… -
#94 Help with re-shoot
OK - Did a new upload so for those who only saw a red X is this better? Since I had a chance to re-shoot my current entry, addressing some of the helpful comments on the DOF and background lights/shapes, it's now down to my current entry vs. the newer version and they're different so I'm having a hard time deciding. Can… -
Two from Viera; one white and one black
Not many birds compared to winter, but still a great place to visit. I got a new camera delivered by USPS today. I went after work today and got these two extremes. The first a snowy egret. 100-400mm at 400mm, f/11.0, 1/800. The second, an anhinga. 100-400mm at 285mm, f/8.0, 1/2500. The egret was image #20, and the anhinga… -
Re: Dog a day..
Too much fun is right! :D It was really funny tonight my 94 year old parents saw the picture with her mouth open and freaked out on the appearance of her beard. They thought it was way too long. I didn't want to take the time to explain the lens distortion and the fact she had her jaw dropped down so the beard appeared… -
DSS #94 - angles
Long story, but this started as a black light project that just didn't work, but I decided I liked what I was getting with regular lighting. I am kind of thinking I like #1 best, but #2 has an appeal to me too. Names... Flexible Color? Bright Corners? I am blank... Opinions? Good, bad, scratch the whole thing? I would… -

Re: Sharpening for Finely Detailed High Frequency Images
I've been told that I lean toward under sharpening so I am looking forward to picking up a few pointers. From the image in the link to the first post I can't tell that it is over sharpened. I did grab the file from your site, it was a little soft. Ran it through FM's intellisharpen II. Ran it through rather hi. 94…
