#71 - Concrete
First I have to thank to Sean for this challenge, too. I never thought to take photos of concrete before, and I found to be so exiting and interesting to look for this so common element on our daily life and see it as a potential beauty :) Therefore, I took lots of concrete shots and I really enjoyed doing this. (I'll not… -
Royal International Air Tatoo
Last Saturday I spend a wonderful day at the RIAT airshow at RAF Fairford (England). Please find below a selection of pictures from this day. The light (or quite often the lack of thereof) was very challenging to say the least. With only very short spell of sunshine. Any comments are appreciated. You can see the rest of… -
Re: Something to protect the lens from impact (projectile)?
This is just straight up body armor to protect from bumps and scrapes. It might do the trick for you. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=Search&A=details&Q=&sku=465470&is=REG&addedTroughType=search Or here is a listing of underwater housings available at B&H. These would certainly protect the camera as well.… -
Re: Pull backs....lets have some!
Again these are right out of camera with a very quick black pt adjustment and no cropping. The pull backs were taken with a little canon set on auto. I'll try to post the finished product soon. 2 was with 4x6 main, hair and fill bounced off ceiling. Blue gel on bkg lt. 4 was with 4x6 main and reflector and two strips at… -
#80 - New Shots from Hawaii
Wondering whether you think one of these might be a better option than my "The World Without Glasses" entry. I am having some challenges getting these processed and uploaded (with exif data, currently not with the images) but feel like one of these might very well be a better option. What do you think? These were all… -
Need critiqes from the people who know people!
I finally got my eldest son to pose for me. First time in 4 years. It was his day off and he gave me just a few minutes to shoot a set. This is how he looks on his day off. He does not wear a shirt and he doesn't shave on his days off. The lighting was one hotlight to the right with umbrella and my youngest daughter on the… -
Re: my digital grain technique - C&C please
Ok, I'll try to briefly describe the steps, and give another, less abstract application of the method. The steps that produce the grain effect shown here are, in a simplified form, the following: 1) the original image is magnified 4x and divided into small tiles 2) in each tile, the pixels are replaced by "digital grains"… -
More HS Basketball
Covering my old high school a lot lately.. They are a 2A school here in Indiana and just successfully beat last years 1A (Bowman) & 2A (Wheeler) champs and are currently undefeated at 8-0. The local newspaper had a tournament this past weekend where schools that don't normally get to play each other were matched up. This… -
Re: A bit rusty
Warning: HazMat Saturation Levels I'm kind of new to the Rust Junkie scene. I guess for me, rust is more of a gateway drug...to feed my real addiction: decontextualized images of random public art! It's funny, to be honest my first instinct was to desaturate both images, and have them look kind of muted and washed out. But… -
Re: Orchard wedding...(Waylin and Mikelle)
Thanks to all for the super sweet comments. You'll get your brownies in the mail sometime next week. Yuppers... the Canon 35L (It's my newest lens, and I just spent another afternoon in admiration of it today. It is pretty dang sharp all the way down to 1.8 up close and even 1.4 from a bit of a distance.) Under the trees:…
