Anyone have any experience with HP x4000's?
I have a question in case anyone has an answer. Has anyone used a HP x4000 workstation with Photoshop/Video Editing? I know they are great for CAD (I know work has used them up until the last upgrade for CAD) I was thinking about a new machine but the specs on these used machines look great.... Vintage late 2001 or 2002… -
Strange hits!
Hi folks, I just had a look at my statistics and couldn't believe that my traffic is 25MB higher than yesterday when I checked. Found out that in my august daily photo gallery the last 4 pictures got 92-94 hits on medium size and I'm pretty sure that I didn't linked them external somewhere. That's very strange, almost the… -
Square mono long exposure coast shots
I've been doing a series of square mono long exposure shots of watery scenes recently. I quite like this format and the long exposure gets some very intriguing results. The idea is to have a set of 20 or so that I can pick 3 or 4 from to put on the wall in my hallway. I try and get strong compositions with positive shapes.… -
Best B-Ball Photo of my Career
I'm not sure if I'll be able to top this. I took it tonight when Valpo was playing Miami Ohio for an ESPN Bracket Buster game... I don't remember whether this was in the first or second overtime (I'm tempted to stay the first overtime) but Valpo ended up winning 99-94. EDIT: I watched the recording of the game on ESPN… -

Re: Andy/Baldy - feed me
I've seen a lot of articles from Dr. Stephen Byrnes on the dangers of a vegetarian diet and the benefits of milk and butter (as opposed to margarine). One teaching he's famous for is: Are Saturated Fats Really Dangerous For You? By Stephen Byrnes, PhD, RNCP Myth #6: Saturated fats and dietary cholesterol cause heart… -
Re: 64 Bit ApertureToSmugMug Plugin
I just installed the plugin, and I'm finding that it seems to like to get partway through an upload and stall out (e.g. right now it's on image 31 of 87; previously it had gotten through something like 140 images before stalling and leaving the 87; on the last batch, I had to cancel the upload and restart for the last 40… -
Re: Split Personality
You know, Michael, I had those two rust interpretations....which I called " He Said - She Said ".... blown up big ( 20 x 30 ) and beautifully framed ( white frames and white mattings...they were striking ) and put them in an art show. A dentist in south Georgia had seen them at the show and recently bought both of them to… -
Panoramic Rail Settings - Add yours here!
I am in the process of getting into Panoramic images and have purchased a basic RRS pano kit, I spent some time looking online for rail settings that people used for their lens/camera/pano equipment configurations and couldnt find much. I would like to collect on my blog/website a single place to find rail settings for not… -
Re: Minimum Res Requirement vs Common Sense Workflow
OK I'm new at this whole SM thing and I have question regarding the resolution of my pics. I shoot with a Nikon D50. I shoot it the fine mode. My pics are 2.5MB on avg and they are 3000 x 2000pix. I use Photoshop to rotate my pictures and thensavethem at the highest JPEG setting. I then upload. I figured at that resolution…
