Flood Damage at Mount Rainier
One of my favorite locations for photography is Mount Rainier. Unfortunately there won’t be any photography at the mountain again anytime soon. This month the Pacific Northwest received a record amount of rain, only half way through November and we’ve already set the all time record for rain for this month (as measured at… -

Re: practice w/ off cam flash and umbrella
He was sitting about 5 feet in front of the wall. No fill light, only the foamcore board as reflector about 1 foot away on camera left. The b&w is quite contrasty, but I don't think it's totally blown. The brightest spot I can find on his arm is reading 223, 222, 221 and his temple is 242, 241, 241. The umbrella (shoot… -
SOLD: Sigma EX DG APO OS 80-400mm (Canon Mount)
Well I have decided to sell my beast! Just don't get out for Wildlife much and it's bit much for me to lug any more. Only marks on it are some small chips of paint off the lens ring foot which is a common problem with Sigma. Comes with Box...Paperwork......case with strap....lens hood....Hoya Pro-1 Digital UV and a S&W… -
Re: DSS 29 and some trance
The first one is ok, but perhaps work with different crops and I can't decide if I like the vignette or not. The second one "opens up all kinds of possibilities" for a strong entry. However, when I consider your title, I think of rotting fruit because of the ripe in the title. The leaves are too dry, you need both decay… -

Re: Dgrin is sick
I spoke too soon. It's intermittent now. Here's a recent trace that shows one hop in the chain as clearly having problems. I can't tell if this in Smugmug's network or in their ISP's network: C:\Users\John>tracert www.dgrin.com Tracing route to pluto.smugmug.com [63.81.134.25] over a maximum of 30 hops: 1 1 ms 1 ms 1 ms… -

Re: First Time Senior Shoot
Hmm... I think the contrast in the first is better, this one feels more flat/grey. I wish I had the insight to be more specific on what needs to happen. Sorry. I think if you just bump your grey point a bit it will lighten things up, and if you can bring down the white point a bit as well. Regarding the lack of fill. Yeah…
