Those of you old enough remember the Asimov's story. Them yongun ones can use google... :-) Anyways... This time around we're gonna catch a match flare. Make it artsy. Make it look great.. Re: Why white?
yeh... its not just canon that has white lenses. IDK how many of you have spend 8-10 hours outside with a camera, no clouds, no shade, and 90 degrees. Lemmie tell you, the black camera body gets hot REAL quick and the white lens stays nice and cool. Whats the operating temperature on these cameras??? Isnt it only something… -
Re: Groomsmen pull a fast one...
Makes me a little jealous, to be honest. Not only of you, for encountering such a great photo op, but of the guys, for the cool dip. Last weekend I shot a wedding (as second shooter) and we all nearly melted. It was 104 degrees with high humidity, causing a heat index of 112. When the job ended at 1am it was still in the… -
Re: Looking at a new camera
Stick with the kit for now If you're on a budget, don't worry about upgrading the lenses yet. The kit lens, though not L standard, is not a bad lens. It will be a great 'walk-around' lens, and will take great photographs. I, too, am new to dSLR's. I bought my first in November--the XTi. I love it. So far I would recommend… -
Re: Andy/Baldy - feed me
Motivation isn't the problem, timing is. Though with enough motivation that goes away as well. I know many people who've said that exercise makes you young. And my great-great aunt is a great example. She walked at least 2 miles a day until she hurt her leg at the age of 101. Now she just walks as much as she can. She'll… -
Re: Recommend 2 lenses for the Canon 60D
Thanks guys. Apart from the normal family shots and landscapes I'd like to take shots of my kids playing sports - indoor basketball for instance. I was thinking of switching the 18-135mm kit lens for the 15-85mm USM as I have heard they are a great starter lens. (and would do better at indoor sports). This or the kit lens… -

smart sharpen tool
first post in the photoshop forum...please be gentle whats the rub with the new sharpen tool? i searched the forums and had little to no luck. is it pretty much USM with options for gaussian, lens, and motion blurs? i had a comfort zone with USM, but smart sharpen seems much more powerful. how does the amount translate… -
Re: Dealing with seamless paper background
Hey Steve, Post photos of your stand. I never had the guts to use 104" paper. 54" is enough of a pita for me and my pvc stand. I usually use the top "rail" of my stand to hold the roll, and just pull down from there. I use a clip on either end to keep the whole damned roll from unspooling (don't ask me how I know it'll do…
