Equipment, Process, or Unreasonable Expectations?
I posted some examples in Finishing School of a Hawk photo that demonstrates my dissatisfaciton my end results. Take a look and see if you have any suggestions here: http://www.dgrin.com/showthread.php?p=679821#post679821 Here's my original finished photo of a red-tailed hawk. Or, maybe you'll see something by looking at… -
Re: Un-official Unsolicited Vista and Windows 7 Advice Thread
I don't really know about a short or long name in MS. The folder on my desktop is called "123". I went into task manager, opened cmd prompt, closed explorer. Navigated to the folder and went to delete the file. It gave me the same rubbish filename, directory name or syntax is incorrect. Is there anything in the MS world… -
Re: Suggestions for remote wireless release?
Art, Thats a real head turner for the 123's. I guess i was lucky with mine, I now have two transmitters so I can do the shutter and flash properly. I still stand behind the RF-602 units even with the batteries. I had one transmitter for 6 months now and it still works great, of course I'm not a pro and don't use them… -
Re: do you offer passport services?
ChatKat, you're right, I just timed it and turns out it only takes two minutes for this type of photo from start to finish.:D Here's your two-minute workflow: Get the customer in front of your camera, shoot two photos, that's it. They actually shoot one photo at Kinkos, so you've already done double what the "competition"… -
Re: How Much Memory?
Set to Superfine and M1 (1600 x 1200), it forecasts 246 pictures. That seems about right as pics at that level are usually ~1MB. If I switch the pic size to large, I get 123 ( 2272 x 1704). Clicking it down to M2 (1024 x 768), it'll take about 431. If I go to Normal resolution (sorry, ain't gonna happen) and Small, it'll… -
Re: Understanding My Sitemap & Visitor Stats
What is giving me the most concern is the dramatic drop in Indexed pages I see. I had thousands of pages that were once indexed, but now only 43! I have 123 galleries open to the public, so that means a lot of my galleries are no longer indexed. Right? I am also not getting images back when I do a Site:Lutzr2.smugmug.com… -
Ring-Necked Pheasant
Comments and suggestions? This guy and his mate were about 20 ft into a very dense wooded area. The only thing I've done other than cropping is I added a multiply layer and mask to darken the corners. The LRHC is still lacking density but I'm undecided about any further treatment of an already good photo. I got some… -
Pls: Critique my new business site
I've been in this new business for 3 weeks now. I am far from having everything in my site that I want, but I thought it might be worth it to stick my neck out and ask: "What is urgently or fairly important that's wrong with my site?" www.smile-123.smugmug.com It always helps to hear someone else's view, especially when… -
DSS #123 - thoughts please?
Was having a really hard time trying to come up with something for this until this evening (it's amazing how creative my mind gets when I am avoiding doing my taxes!!) & now I need help choosing. These shots might be partially identifiable by someone in the hobby, but I was using a macro tube & playing with angles & light… -
some waterfalls
took a day trip down to Mt. Rainier on Sunday. the mountain was pretty well socked in, but the conditions were pretty good for shooting some of the many waterfalls in the park... 5D, 24-135, various settings... Falls Creek Falls, just inside the Stevens Canyon entrance... a couple of nameless waterfalls - at least, if they…
