Re: Is a $1000 monitor really worth it
The newer version from HP, the ZR2440w, is superior to the ZR24w. The difference is that the ZR2440w uses an W-LED back light rather than the CCFL back light of the ZR24w. The benefit is that you have more control over the brightness with the ZR2440w and it can easily be taken below 80 cd/m2 for editing in a darker room.… -
Gals interested in the Jill-e bags - another choice
I've been eyeing the Jill-e bags for a while now, but the price was such that I just couldn't take the plunge. Today at best buy I found this Swiss Gear black nylon bag ("Diana" large SLR bag) I have just packed it up with my XT, 3 lenses and flash, and there's still room for one more small-to-medium-size item (probably… -

This is kind of a last minute thing so I need to be able to pull this off quickly. I have several photos that I need blown up REALLY big. like 20x30 16x24 etc, then… -

Beauty Portraits: Yok @ Tamarina Resort (NSFW)
Okay, back to basics. No hanky-panky stuffs for these images as they are for a publication. A profile write-up on this model is featured in one of the local magazines here in Thailand and I was invited to do the shoot. Done these images almost at the end of August 2009. Yok is a simple looking girl with very good facial… -
Weekly Assignment #130: Pinhole
This one is a classic. A camera with no lens. Just a (really small) hole in an otherwise opaque material. Here is my own experiment, took me about 2 minutes total to prep it http://www.dgrin.com/showthread.php?t=141842 So, your task is to achieve a similar (and hopefully, much more better quality) goal. What do you need to… -

For those of you who saw my earlier thread (http://www.digitalgrin.com/showthread.php?t=77114), I was asked to shoot a baptism and i didn't have the proper equipment... ie, a flash... So I made a home-made diffuser and went in for battle :huh It was quite something... trying to be at… -

Re: OMG I finally have it!!!
Good in a barfight, too. I rented this one last weekend, and I can honestly say I was blown away. I pretty much expect all Canon L's to perform as well as you would hope it would do by reading the numbers, that it will be sharp wide open, focus fast, be built well, but the 70-200 f/2.8 IS seemed like it just sort of bent… -
