When I was in Best Buy, they only had 3 in their entire warehouse. Or at least that was what the guy told me to coax me to buy it when I did.

Looks like we are helping Canon out with its profits.

    One from today in Colorado:

Now the 100% crop. This camera impresses me with it's resolution. The smoothness of those windscreens is pretty great—and unexpected. The trees are equally good in places. Never mind the purple splotch headscratch.gif

It's good to know, thanks for the info.

If I may recommend, just call Tallyns, ask how far are you in the reserve list, also, last time, they told me, they dont have many queue on the body+lens kit, compared with body only.

Some shots that I took with the mark II! Shot with my 24-70 and new macro lens!

ISO 6400 I didn't think my 580 EX would be compatible with the new 5D MK II, but it is! Sweet! I can stave off the EX II for a little longer!

well it looks like I might be infected!! Quick I need the vaccine.. post haste! Well I won't be shooting at ISO 6400 with crazy lights for a while and cropping excessively... ::sobs::

I don't use them but I heard from a few people that you need to wait for a new one.

Well, I ordered one at 2:30 Sunday morning.

www.pictureline.com has both the body only, and the kit in stock.

I've never heard of this place, did a quick check online, the place looks good,
but you make up your own mind before ordering from them.

Either you're joking or you just have to explain this further? (I'm betting it's a joke because of this camera's wonderfulness, but it's not "magical".)

Ziggy, that's kind of an inside joke towards me.
I have a reputation of being pretty steady, and not using a tripod. A half second exposure is nothing to me.
With the low light/high iso capabilities of this camera, I may never need a tripod again.:D

Catspaw, thanks for easing my mind.

Right now I'm pretty happy that my Canon 28-300is lens didn't sell.
I think it's going to be one heck of a walk around lens.

Just throwing it out there, I hate everyone with one :D . In all seriousness though, it looks like a superb piece of equipment and good luck to those with one. I only wish I could sell my 30d body for more than 600 on ebay, it would make purchasing the 5d a bit more realistic.

I really like Andy's table set up!! it's so nice!

Well, now that 5D mk II's files being insanely huge, would it be wise now to get 16 gb CF cards? Before I would have stayed away from them and stuck with 4 gb cards but that was with the 30D's raw files.

Ted, I just grabbed 3x 16GB Extreme III from Adorama for $80 a piece, and supposedly after $100 rebate, each will be around $46ish

Or if you prefer 8GB UDMA Extreme IV, if you get 3, after $150 rebate, it should be around $30ish each.

I read on DP that Ultra II series CF are working just fine for 1080 video, so Extreme III series should be more than enough.

Wallet is getting thinner and thinner headscratch.gif

For you that purchased from Best Buy, now they have it on sale ( or price dropped? ) for $2564

I think you can get price match to lower your price.

Im not sure about Tallyns, are they honoring price match?rolleyes1.gif Maybe Andy can help us to pull some triggers, hehehe
