So, I changed my sig yesterday to abide by the new "rules" and it flew just fine, but now I see that the Chiefs changed the rules for the Indians again and the PHP in my sig is now gone. So, what's up with this?

Here's what I'm trying to do now and I get the "Your signature contains too many lines and must be shortened" message! BTW, total word count here is 322.
Seymore -- MooreFoto
"A snapshot is not as simple a statement as some may believe. It represents something that each of us has seen -
more as human beings than photographers - and wants to keep as a memento, a special thing encountered." - Ansel Adams
How can this be more than 5 lines when the font is smaller? Looks like 3 to me. It would be nice if we were shown what we had with the current format, even if it exceeds the line limit. This would help us to debug the problem and not come asking for assistance.

    Help please?
    Thanks...

Looks to be working fine, the signature in your post matches the text you linked in your post.

Ummmmmm... no it doesn't, because I have not submitted it yet. You never even looked at the PHP code, did you? The font, on the quote, is not "1" or right justified.

Please let the others, who are more knowledgeable in these matters, assist Andy. Personally, I've never received any "help" from you. I'll ask you to please pass in "trying" to assist me Andy. Understood?

Any of the other MODs, input please?

Seymore, you're being rude to someone who's trying to help you.

Seymore, if you cannot be civil and courteous to me and the rest of the moderators, you will be asked to leave Dgrin. There will be no more exceptions. Ever. We've let too much slide.

    Understood?

I've added a signature for the first time and it's not appearing. I added this post earlier and the signature appeared... So, I deleted the post since it was fixed. After I deleted the post, the signature doesn't appear again.

    headscratch.gif

    ... posting and checking again.

EDIT: Looks like signatures aren't appended to previous posts upon viewing them later?

There's a link in your signature. If there was no signature in the previous post, it will not be appended when you add one.

Need help with length and number of lines
OK - I'm trying to conform and be a good girl. I'm in the middle of changing my signature, I figured a few of my own answers out, but I'm still getting erros about too many characters and too many lines.

I'd like mine to look like Andy's - where it's simple - My website vs. the whole link, etc.

I figured that if I typed it like Carol

    <a href="http://www.loracphoto.com/">My Website</a>

    <a href="http://loracphoto.blogspot.com/">My Blog</a>

    <a href=https://www.facebook.com/pages/Carol-Dunnigan-Photography/133767013350448">Facebook</a>

I don't know how to keep it from wrapping to the next line. How can I fix this so it looks clean like Andy's?

    Thanks for any help provided!

I figured that if I typed it like <a href...... it might be long in the area I actually inputed it, but not on my signature itself when viewing on the forum. Guess that's not right.

How can I make this happen?

    Thanks for any help provided!

You don't need to use a href tags, and they won't help what you're trying to accomplish. Your Facebook tag is long and doesn't work for me. Why not simplify the link so it just goes to your profile?

I would suggest putting your signature in a post just the way you want it, using vBulletin tags, and then we'll be more clear on what we need to do to help you get it set straight. <img src="https://us.v-cdn.net/6029383/emoji/thumb.gif&quot; border="0" alt="" >

    Something like this?

    Carol
My Website | Blog | Facebook

Again I would suggest changing the Facebook URL

I've added *'s to break the code so you can see what I did. Season to taste:

    Carol
    My [*url=http://www.loracphoto.com/]Website | [*url=http://www.loracphoto.blogspot.com/]Blog | [*url=http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/pages/Carol-Dunnigan-Photography/133767013350448]Facebook

Just go to your profile and copy whatever is in the URL.

Sorry. I'm a shmuck. I did. I have a personal fb page, and then a business page that's attached to it. Not sure if it's because I'm the one trying, but when I click on the link in my signature, it brings me to my personal fb page. Not Carol Dunnigan Photograhpy.

I just updtd my signature to include a link to Google+. Is there any way that I can get it on the same line as the rest of my links?

I just removed the carriage return in the signature (between the "|" and "Google").

Another way of saying it is that your signature was two lines. Making them one solves the problem. I did that by editing your signature.
