Jef I was just looking at your site to see the new site examples. Really a very cool site. I have a dog that loves to hike so I started to look at the info to see where you are located. I had a hard time finding where you are located. So I would make that a little easier to find. I live in Ohio. I wish I lived near you as my dog would love it.

    Here's mine... http://http://www.photosbyadamlee.com/

I set mine up with the world of mobile devices in mind. The gallery photos fill the screen and will mould to any device and I believe scrolling vertically is a natural way to browse given the smart phone and tablet revolution.

Adam beautiful images especially the landscapes. I love the full screen view. I agree with you regarding watermarks. I struggle with how to protect my photos.

Hello, my website is below, I used the Template Zoe..... I wanted my website to be nice and clean plus easy to navigate for people, nothing too busy also I wanted the layout to look well on phones or tablets. So I edited the template Zoe a bit, also used smugmugs contact me form. My older smugmug site was all black, I went with white this time and love the new smugmug look.

Very nice site. Looks professional, easy to navigate and with beautiful images.

Your pictures are real nice but your header is larger then your pictures. I would increase your slide show and make your header smaller.

    Mine is now live.

Quite a bit of small customization, removing a lot of stuff I didn't want to see, key words and the like.

Still have a few problems, if you drag the window so its thinner you will get to a point where the nav menu wraps so I have 2 lines of text. Not sure how to fix it.

Another thing I'm trying to do is change the smugmug gallery style so the thumbnails are bigger and arranged in a landscape collage style.

    ---> www.benchampion.net <---
Love your site, would love to know how you made the slideshow stretch, that's what i'm looking to do. Also how did you get the thumbnails on your gallery stretch as well?

The homepage really jumps out at you. I really like it. Very neat unusual images. You need a bio page to talk about yourself and how you took these images.

I went live with mine the first day and have been tweaking slowly each day. It's getting there.

    www.brianjaphoto.com

Right now when you click on the "PHOTOS" link I have "Recent Galleries" on top with the photos organized by category below them for older galleries.

I've been debating separating the two and having two links in my menu bar:
    1) Recent Galleries (12-24 most recent additions)
    2) Photos by Category (Contains All Galleries)

    Thoughts?

My vote would be for 2 links. There seems to be too much on one page. You could make a drop down menu to list recent photos and all the other folders

Did a update to site on small things. Let me know how you feel about it.

also check out Right Click Protection here.

Looks good to me. The slideshow is a little to fast for my tastes

After seeing all of the really great looking sites here, I had to go back and redo mine because it seemed so amateurish to me. I borrowed a lot of inspiration from everyone else and it seems a lot better to me now. Also, it is more like the old SmugMug site that I had in terms of layout (I think).

If anyone sees any mistakes or how it could be improved, I would be grateful to hear about it. Thanks.

    My SmugMug photo site:

    http://steveandbecky.smugmug.com/

I would remove the smugmug footer & header. Personally I also don't like the navigation arrows on the slideshow. It is distracting to me. Your images are very nice

Still a work in progress, but I am close. Having a hard time with the color scheme. Really don't want white, but not black either. Love to hear some thoughts.

The colors look good to me. The slideshow is fun to watch. I love the montages. Are they hard to do especially the one where the dog is zigzagging between the posts?

I have been viewing some great new sites here. I unveiled my site last week. I worked on it for several days. I had a few bugs to work through but it was very easy in comparison to legacy.
I am happy with it but continue to tweak things as it is so easy to modify. I appreciate ideas on how to improve it.

Ok, from a novice...my personal page...like the new look and was easy to convert...still learning and getting good ideas from the pros here....
Like the ability to create a page...the first one was about a local children's charity I volunteer with here in Alabama. As you note..my hobby is motorcycle touring and shot with small compact camera to share my memories..

My only thought, is that on my 26" screen the font in your header is very small and far from your logo, may want to consider making that a little larger and maybe centering your logo? Just an idea. This is what it looks like for me...

Here's a link to my site, you'll have to Enter the site then click on "images" to get to the SM section of it.
I really like how easy it was to combine my SM with my full site, hopefully making it easier for folks interested in my stuff to be able to navigate around.
i'm having some trouble with smart galleries putting photos in them that don't have the keywords for the smart gallery rules, namely in my "not moto-photo" gallery, still trying to figure that one out.
Any suggestions on my SM site overall are welcome.

I love this site, certainly different from other smugmugs with the landing page, but like the idea a lot. I LOVE your logo, I laughed a little bit in a good way.

    I like your site,

FYI, the "sports" link is showing up longer than the other 3. Also your background is not stretching the whole size of the browser, picture may be too small?

There is too much space between your logo and your slideshow and between your slideshow and the photo montage at the bottom of the homepage.

I'd recommend making the Enter visible on the top part of your home page. The only reason I scrolled down on your homepage is because I couldn't figure out how to enter your site. Scrolling down on a homepage with a slideshow and nothing else visible isn't something I usually do - I just assume the homepage is simple and holds only a slideshow. (Yes, I know, there is a scrollbar.)

Let me know of any problems....I'm a little concerned by it being a bit slow to load everything...

I find it hard to view... all those attractive, young, cool, hip people everywhere. have a thought for the old has-beens like me?:D

Nice layout. At first I didn't like the opaque background, but thinking about it most of the shots are of people in festive mood, so it sort of gives a effective party look which suits quite well.

I like the wedding shots, which are very tasteful and restrained, unlike some of the gimicky tat that some photographers produce. I wouldn't mind you doing my wedding, but I'm way too old for that bad business! http://www.paulbrockphotography.co.uk/Portfolio/Wedding-Photography

Hey, Alex - how did you get your front page collage fullpage like that? LOVE the look for a homepage! I'm using Sierra as a base template, which I think can do that (maybe).

OOps - I lied - current site is Duke (i've tried so many now I"ve lost track lol)

Thank you very much, twice over, kind sir.

Now if I go with a search cloud, I guess it means I need to tag my photos?
