I might as well chime in here. Here's my old ride, a 2003 WRB Subaru WRX. I traded it for my now 2004 Ranger 4x4.

    Modifications are as follows;

    Blitz Axel Back
    Gutted Uppipe
    4" Downpip
    UTEC
    Progressive Adjustable Rear Sway bar
    K&N Air filter
    MBC set at 17 psi
    17" Centerline RPM rims ($1900)
    Pirelli PZero Nero tires
    20% tinit
    Clifford Remote Start/Car Alarm

    pic3.jpg

    pic2.jpg

    pic1.jpg

Next car is gonna be a 06-07 Subaru STi with a UR gt35R turbo, UTEC, ECUTEK, exhaust, upgraded fuel system, etc. Gonna have it tuned by a company in Atlanta GA called Topspeed, on 93. This setup should net me around 450-500WHP and 550-600lb ft of torq. Mind you the car doesn't weigh 3200lbs.

When did Andy request this? I think you're just showing off.

And maybe it's just because I'm from a gentrified state (Maryland), and not some place like Kansas or Kentucky (just kidding guys), but I'm not so into the snakes thing.
He came upstate and asked me in person. Thats right, I actually got to meet the famous Andy!

Actually, I requested it today when I picked up this morning at his college, to take him to my daughter's big HS production of "Into The Woods."

We had a bit of a drive (I showed him a thing or two) and he mentioned his new GF.

Zach, thumb.gif I'd like to meet her next trip up....

So, I moved your posts back here. For two reasons:

    1) you get ONE thread - Car Talk.
    2) girls and cars go well together, last time I checked.

Only for people who are only marginally interested in cars. For people who are really car crazy, there is nothing else. All of life is cars. All life outside of cars, sleeping, eating, dating, working, is simply waiting.

Michael Delaney would turn down Lisa Belgetti.

On a more serious note, if a girl, any girl, couldn't go along with my choices in cars, that would be the end of it. Not saying she would have to support it or understand it, just go along with it...and yes I do realize this is different from what I was talking about earlier, but that's not just for people who are car crazy but also for people who are truly great at racing. I'm not truly great at racing...ok for the street (and even then didn't know when to stop), but not good enough for the real deal.

But then again what is she going to school for? Also how mentally stable is she? After all thats what thing I will say about cars. Even on their bad days they are usually more reliable than women.

Well your what 19. That sounds about right for the number of gf's. But you should be keeping the cars around longer.

That's nothing. I've had more cars than gf's...for so long cars, and then cars and photography (the latter one I'm not good at), have been my life. Now that I don't really have a car any more, maybe it's time for a gf, but then, like the song says "you ain't got no money, you ain't got no car, so you got no woman, and there you are," or the other song "ain't got no cash, ain't got no style, ladies vomit when I smile, but does Zoidberg worry? feh you wish" (no my last name isn't Zoidberg...viva Futurama).
My only excuse for this post is I didn't sleep last night so that I could write a paper and study for a test.

"you ain't got no money, you ain't got no car, so you got no woman, and there you are,"

Give it enough time and your friends and family will start to medle. Then you will get forced into going on dates with people you hardle know and having tons of people talking about you when you aren't around. rolleyes1.gif Tomorrow is going to be an interesting evening for me.

    How to solve this problem:
Go on date with someone who knows most of the people you'd be getting fixed up with
Tell date "guess what I am"
Insert hard boiled egg into mouth
press hard on cheeks sending egg everywhere
    Tell date "a zit"
If you don't know what movie this is based on, you must not be/have never been a college student.

Yeah um, if you can beleive it, I'm to conservative to actually do that.

Oh and um Still enrolled in college have taken classes, been to dorm parties all that good stuff but never seen that movie. I should add I've never seen monty python either. Actually I haven't seen much of anything from the looks on peoples faces when I respond "no" when they ask me if i've seen a movie.

It's Animal House. If you, like a friend of mine who hasn't seen any good movies with, are keeping a list of movies to watch one day, add Blade Runner, Gumball Rally (ok, so this ones junk, but as a car guy you might like it), Le Mans, Bullitt, Dirty Harry, and French Connection (just the first one, not the sequel) to that list.

I've seen gumball rally more times than I can count. I own it after all, and thats the only one from that list I have seen. I have heard of animal house though.

Well, Bullitt has the best car chase scene of any movie in it...took them 2 weeks to get it right. Le Mans is the best racing movie, shot during the actual Le Mans. Do yourself a favor and don't watch vanishing point (not the old one, especially not the new one). For all the talk about the old one being a good driving movie, it is the worst I've ever seen.
