Joining In
I was told about this thread and have enjoyed looking at all the live photos here. Shooting at a live event, wether you are in the crowd or with the bad, is always a fun time, and I have had the chance to do this once in a while over the last few years. To start I thouht I would post some of my faves, hope you enjoy. And any C&C is highly appreciated

Woops, looks like my lunch hour is up at work here. I will post more soon.
Oh ya, these were shot with the Nikon D70, and are about 4 years old, so ya, a little grainy.
I have yet to post pics on any of the forums..
but I couldn't help but jump into this one:)
I was just reminiscing about the summer, so I went ahead and posted a few of a concert that I was able to have a stage pass for. This is a Christian band, so many of you may not be familiar.
Bati-Holic
Hello again. Thought I would post a few more of another group I used to shoot. They are called Bati-Holic and are a traditional drum and dance gruop based here in Kyoto. Nice people, and you can find several of my photos on their website.
Here is one from Alabama... I have a couple more from the same night but they aren't uploaded at the moment. The band was playing at HorsePens40 (NE of Birmingham), which also happens to be one of the locations for the Triple Crown bouldering series (it's a rock climbing competition), so there are boulders of varying size/height in the area. I was sitting on one of the tall boulders next to the stage to get this shot.
ETA:
Here's some shots from U2 in Tampa from my tiny phone - they made me bring the SLR back to the car even though the website said it was legal to have it, so we missed the opening band The first one is what the stage looked like in full light between bands
Okay, I'll see how my Amateur skills add up. I was asked by some old friends to shoot a gig they had at a local VFW. The deal was to generate support for "operation uplink", a way to help fund call phones and call time for our troops overseas. The Night was a BLAST, These guys put on a GREAT show.

The Church in Sellersville, PA- 4/24/2010
I recently photographed The Church in Sellersville, PA...they definitely rocked! I was given permission to be up at the stage for the entire show, instead of the usual first 3 songs.
Shot with my Nikon D80 and two lenses (35-70mm 2.8 & 80-200mm 2.8).
Stage lighting was extremely dim so shoot as 1000ISO with an average shutter speed of 1/20th. blog- The Church, Sellersville (433)-edit.jpg
