Canadian cats
This is Triscuit. She's 9 now but came to live with me at 6 weeks - a former barn kitty who, my vet says, is a "Rag Doll". She lives up to that moniker and is Queen of the house.
This is Halo - our 7 year old Tortie from the local rescue and dog trainer / mouser extraordinaire!
I was not a cat person until I met Dominic, Mackie for short and Mao for really short. Abandoned by the Dominican family who moved and left him behind, he was taken in by my family and named Dominic. There are 4 kids in the house, and he's been stepped on, pulled by his tail, squeezed, sat on, all sorts of indignities and he's never ever even bared his claws. He is a little paragon of patience even though he's up there in years, or we think he is anyway. He's been with us for 13 years.

I'm not really an animal person, but my gf is. We now have a cat living with us that used to be hers a few years ago. He's a black guy, with some red in him when the sun shines on him. He's also turning grey (He's turning 12 soon). I have to admit that, when he doesn't pee on the floor or puke on the couch, he's not that bad.
This is not the best picture of Chuck I ever took, but it was the last. He had a stroke on Sept 28 and died a week later.
He was 18 years old and I had him since he was a tiny kitten. I miss him intensely and will probably mourn him for the rest of my life.
I am so sorry, it is never easy to lose a pet, much less a heart pet. There are some pets that just go beyond "Pet", may Chuck be playing and chasing catnip mice at the Rainbow bridge.
Thanks Penny. Yeah, Chuck was more than a mere pet. He took up a huge part of my life and I can't believe the weight of my grief. I've cried at least once a day since the 28th. It seems a little weird, but I can't help it.
I was aiming for a window light shot of my cat Skittles who was checking out the outside world from the back rest of our couch. I guess during his five years of living with a shutter bug, he got quite bored with being photographed... (this is a yawn. He's not, as my friend suspected, singing opera )
I really like this shot, gotta check whether I can fix some of the blown out fur in RAW.

This is Zoe. She follows me as much as she can. I was sitting outside in 22 degree weather for 2 hours, while it was snowing, trying to get some birds at the feeders. She wanted to be outside with me and stayed for a bit before wanting back in doors.

Gwendolyn decided to get into the act while I was doing a quick food shot (I had to shoot it before it got cold!)
She didn't get a slice.
