I am from Melbourne Australia, have a D70 and various lenses etc, and love photography.
I'm a moderator at http://www.dslrusers.net - a very active forum based in Australia but with quite a few members from elsewhere. Started life as a d70 forum, now has a broader base, although probably 75% Nikon.
As you can tell by the exposure above I'm no photographer . But I do love photography. My interests are adventure motorcycle travel (advrider/smugmugger) and freefall photography.
Sometimes I hang around here... now that I decided to post a question I thought it would be good to introduce first. By now I own a Canon 300D. I have the POS kit lens EF-S 18-55, an EF 50 1.8, an EF15 2.8, a russian Zenithar 16 mm 2.8 and a Peleng 8mm 3.5.
I thought for a min that your were here in Australia Antonio...the tropic of capricorn is just north of me a few hours & the scene could be the same also.
You should all feel honored, it is not often i put a pic of myself (and my wife) out here in cyberspace... Too paranoid usually, but I am too tired to care. Took this for adoption pictures this autum, and it is about the only self-portait I can deal with.

Easy to look tall when your wife is 4'9" : Thanks for the welcome! This may wind up being my new haunt, liking this forum already. I have a hard time with forums that have far too many people on them
Glad to be here
Hello Everyone:
Just found this forum while looking for information about camera bags. You all seem like a nice crowd to hang with, so let me pull up a chair and grab a cup of java while I learn more about you!

I am officially introducing myself...
Hi. I'm Nikki. I've just started playing around on the forums, so I thought I better go ahead and introduce myself. Here's my selfportrait, I took it with an old pentax. And I swear, I don't always look this kind of... mean.
Hey everyone! I joined SM a few days ago... And having lots of fun exploring!
Looking forward to learning, and geting to know you all. smugmug-pic!jpg.jpg
I knew, of course, that trees and plants had roots, stems, bark, branches and foliage that reached up toward the light. But I was coming to realize that the real magician was light itself.

You might want to change the title to: Introduce yourself here by showing us your Mug.
Current title sounds like either-or
"Tis better keep your mouth shut and be thought of as an idiot than to open your mouth and remove all doubt"
