    tree update/subcategory not created
    Allen wrote:
Can't just logout and log in to re-get the tree update?

Is this tree update question related to the problem I have that a new subcategory doesn't show up? http://www.dgrin.com/showpost.php?p=659527&postcount=297

If so, it doesn't seem to be the entire story since I also went to the smugmug site and a new subcategory that I created using smugbrowser wasn't there either.

Thanks for any hints. Could be driver error.

    Awesome... thankswings.gifbarbwings.gif
The only other function that would make this even better would be to add the bulk-zoom feature to it.... Or maybe SM could just add it as their own supported feature...

    MugSbrowser
I am having trouble getting to grips with Smugbrowser:

Im not sure what's supposed to happen, e.g. when I click on a gallery thenchnage the look and feel that window doesn't accept a 'OK' button click - it's unresponsive, only 'cancel' works.
Also there are folders there that I deleted ages ago

Oh and FF just reported a crash as I was quitting

    Hi Simon,

Can you please be more specific, ie. what gallery, what settings you changed etc.

    Thanks,

    Default Gallery Settings
Is there anyway for Smugbrowser to remember default settings similiar to quick settings when manually uploading. I thought it might remember the last settings used, but that does not seem to be the case and I have to manually set the gallery options every time.. Any suggestions ?

    G'day Comfort,

THe API call for quick settings was broekn for a long time, that's why you can see it on the first tab of the album dialog, it's on the list to be fixed....when i get a chance.

    Thanks David..

I thought something like that would have been requested by now so could not figure out why it was not in... Quite simply, you couldnt..

The other option would be just some sort of template facility to store settings in smugbrowser, or even the ability just to remember the last settings used.

Thanks for a great solution. I have decided for now to manually create the albums and then use smugbrowser to upload all the photos.

Also, is it possible to reduce the number of photos being uploaded at any one time (is this the browser upload slots doing this?) as the uploads saturate my upload bandwidth.

    Cheers

    Comfort

Hello, Didn't know where else to put this!

Trying SmugBrowser, looks like just what I need to use in order to delete a lot of galleries I have created.

However, when I start it up and log into my account, it seems to be stuck at "retrieving tree". Can't seem to get past there.

    Hey Dev:

Is there any chance that SmugMug would pay you to further develop SmugBrowser into a more full-fledged interface for managing photos? Here's some things I'd find useful:

    - Hiding
    - Captioning
    - Keywords
    - Rotating

    You know, pretty much anything that now has to be accessed by that very 90s interface of a drop-down "photo tools" menu. :-}

Yes yes, I know. Star*Explorer. But I'm not always on a Windows box. :-0

    Hey Darryl,

yes, that is the plan...however, I am working on a prototype that will allow stuff like drag-n-drop parenting of album/cats/subcats, etc. I am basically doing a total reimplementation using ext-js and not making it mozilla specific.

I started building the need prototype prior to the party, but I haven't had much of a chance to revisit it since...hopefully soon.

    Simonius,

SmugBrowser is mostly driven by right-clicking at different levels in the tree. In regard, to the two category that you said you deleted, you might have deleted the album/gallery which was contained within it, however that would have only hidden the category. You can either delete it from your Control Panel, or in SmugBrower...right-click at the account level, select Properties and then set the option "Show Empty" to No.
