Andy, great, thanks for the info. I will not start any drastic changes until I hear back.

    Thanks for the help
    Casey

Your galleries work fine as long as you don't view them in 'Smugmug' style. I looked at your galleries in 'All thumbnails' and it looked fine.
I can't grasp the notion of time.

When I hear the earth will melt into the sun,
    in two billion years,
    all I can think is:
"Will that be on a Monday?"

Can you try your site now and see if you are still getting the errors? I made a change in your slideshow code for you that SHOULD fix it.

I've been having the IE problem for the past few days too and only today had time to check to see if others were seeing it. It seems I can navigate from the home page through the categories and sub-categories to the point where I actually try to open a gallery. That's where I get the error.

I do have the slideshow code running and some other minor customization, but all that works up to the point of opening a gallery.

If my problem is related to the previously mentioned JS changes, please let me know what I need to do to get it all working again.

For a smugmug customer. This link

    http://isispages-photos.smugmug.com/gallery/2722834

Has the operation aborted error in IE6 for smugmug style only. However, this link:

    http://isispages-photos.smugmug.com/gallery/2722834#144428794

    Does not have an error.

Incidentally, the user has some fancy js dropdown menus.

I guess I spoke too soon in my previous post. I don't get the error opening galleries now, but my slideshow code only works on the homepage now. It should run in the footer of all pages, not just the homepage.

Mike thanks for posting this error for me. It looks like a lot of people or having (or had) similar issues. I do have slideshows on all of my galleries. I did not write the JS code though and I am very much a novice my self. Can JT or Andy or someone help me?? headscratch.gif :cry

    Hi :)

I don't see much in your CSS code that should cause any problems. There are a couple things you can try to see if it will help:

Make sure you have the most recent version of java installed. It can be downloaded here:

    For Internet Explorer:

    http://www.java.com/en/download/index.jsp

Also, I see you deleted your cache and temp files, did you delete your cookies, also? Give that another shot:

Clearing cache for Internet Explorer 6:

    1. From the *|Tools|* menu, select *|Internet Options... |*.
    2. Choose the *|General|* tab.
    3. In the "Temporary Internet Files" section, click *|Delete
    Files... |*.
    4. To confirm the deletion, click *|OK|*.
    5. In the |Internet Options| dialog box, click *|OK|*.

    Clearing cookies for Internet Explorer:

    1. Within IE, go to *Tools | Internet Options*.
    2. Click *Delete Cookies*.
    3. Click *OK*.

Let us know if either of those things help.

    Barb,

You seem to be very knowledgeable and...I am in need of a little knowledge. :) I can't seem to get any help on fixing my IE Error situation. It seems from the string of emails on this subject that it may be related to my slide show. I did not create the js on my site and I am quite the novice. Could you take a look see?

Thanks for the quick reply. I had a web designer at webguru4hire.com to create it. He is great at graphics. But he had to really "study" smug mug to make it work. I'm not using him anymore. Is there a way that you can walk me through how to correct the code myslef?

    I'm sorry, I wouldn't have a clue :(

I wish your designer had shouted out here, on Dgrin, when he was building, so that we could have helped him do things easier....

That said, {JT} will see this and I'm sure that if he has a suggestion, he'll offer it.

Thnx If it is easier to re-write the code then just let me know. Looking forward to hearing from JT soon. Thnx

    Experts,
I've read through this whole thread and I'm not entirely sure what needs to be changed to fix my site. This IE error is a serious problem.

    Please take a look!

I corrected your slideshow code which is typically what is causing the problem. Can you check to see if it took care of things for you?

Hi, but you have loads of other customization :D Lots of flash... the thing is, you have to make it so all your stuff is loading AFTER we've loaded the page in IE6... I'll ask {JT} for a recommendation for you, stay tuned, ok?

I'm just puzzled as to why it's been running fine for 6 weeks and suddenly degrades into digital poo.

We have been looking at your site and trying to figure out why your flash code now busts with the IE6 Page Abort issue. Hang in there please....

I had flash a mp3 player embedded in my footer. Took it out and everything returned to normal working order.

Oddly enough my homepage was always fine, but everything else was messed up.

This whole issue is disappointing, really.

Hi Ken, Ouch- I'm sorry it's disappointing ... there sure could be a way to make it work, I suggest posting a thread in the customizing forum, one of the ie6 gurus might know how. This is a great community, and there are tons of smart guys here... the very same guys that made up most of the code and hacks you are using on your site right now :)

    Cheers
