    Just an update from me -
    I installed the Safari browser on my Vista pc at home and the slide show works fine. However when viewing my galleries in Safari, the main photo, which is usually on the right side of the screen shows up at hte bottom of the page, below the thumbnails, this issue is specific to Safari only.

    My Opera browser also works fine.

    However I still continue to have no luck wiht IE7, IE6 or Firefox browsers on the same vista pc at home. My IE7 on my home laptop, using Windows XP also does not work.

    Thanks.
    Hi, pls send us email, ATTN: Barb - at our help desk, we have a few diagnostics for you to run, very easy. Thanks.

    Not well. Nothing but black on Firefox. Have not retested IE or Safari yet.

    Not good, Andy. In IE I can only activate the slideshow button from the Smugmug style. But then, I get nothing but a black screen. I don't even get the cursor (hand) for activating in Traditional, Journal, etc. styles.

    On the other hand, everything continues to work fine in FF. It plays in all styles.

    I am seeing mixed homepage slideshow results, and can wait a few days if you are still making changes.

    I have updated my code as per the Wiki.

    In FF, first image loads, and thumbnails load, but clicking on the first 5 thumbs does nothing, the 6th image loads successfully, then various others will or will not load. It is always the same images that successfully load. There is a string of 3 images in a row that successfully load, and transition correctly.

    In IE, I am currently getting the smugmug logo. Earlier, it would bring up the first image, and all thumbs would be listed as "Photos not available." Advancing the slideshow resulted in nothing. After many minutes (15+) first couple of thumbs became available.
    IE UPDATE: Refreshed at 9:43, SM logo disappeared and the first image appeared at 9:53, and immediately transitioned to the scond image in the gallery. Only the first thumb is appearing below. 10:00, "Photo Not Available," icons appear for majority of images in the slideshow.

    Thanks for all y'all's help.

    First off, let me say I think you guys (and gals) working on SmugMug are doing a great job! clap.gif I know you must be consuming mass quantities of caffene :slosh in order to work out the bugs in the new upgrade.

    I've read through (most) of the messages in this thread, and only saw one mention about the problem I'm having. I noticed it when I uploaded a new gallery yesterday under Nature "2008-03-19 Sam Houston Park". My url is rockin-photos.com, but this new gallery only shows www.smugmug.com... Not even with the rockin-photos in there anywhere. It doesn't have my logo on it or menu or anything that identifies it as my site. I noticed today that the same thing is happening in another gallery under Portraits "proofs - MikeL080209". I don't seem to be having a problem with any of the other galleries, or my slide show on my Home page or my "Before and After Touch-ups" gallery.

    Please look into this and let me know what the problem is.

    Thanks, Jerry

    Lester, which IE, 6 or 7? And please verify what version of flash is in that browser, by hitting this link IN IE:

    In Gallery Tools - customize gallery make sure you select Appearance as "custom" and not "smugmug".

    Jerry, you set that gallery for "hide owner" which hides your branding and navigation, and your name in the url. Go to gallery tools>customize gallery and set hide owner to "no" and you'll be all set :)

    Thanks Andy. Especially for not calling me those names I'm sure you must be thinking!rolleyes1.gif

    Oh, another thing. I'm not sure why, but the slideshow on my home page used to show the images out of order (I tried to set it to alpha-numeric by filename) for some of the images, but since the upgrade, it's working like I wanted it to!wings.gif Yall Rock!bowdown.gif

    Running IE 7 and WIN 9,0,115,0 for flash. FYI, the info shows the Local File I/O Disabled: false. Don't know whether that means anything. Also, I have Norton on my Vista sytem. Might that be the culprit?

    I was hoping to figure this slideshow thingy out for myself so's not to have to bother y'all, but after spending literally hours reading the thread and other linked threads, have thrown in the towel. Sorry. I can't get any of my galleries to do the full screen slideshow. Just get the black ""esc to yada, yada . ." screen.

    I'm www.portfoliofotos.com. Pro account, etc. IE7, Flash player ver WIN 9,0,115,0. And, before you ask, I'm a complete Luddite when it comes to all this fancy schmancy html stuff.

    I can see your homepage slideshow on Firefox but not on IE7. I looked at the source to see your slideshow parameters, and here's the tail end of the code:
      borderColor: 'ffffff'[B][SIZE=5],
    [/SIZE][/B]};
    SM.flash.insertSlideshow(743,495, ssConfig, 'transparent');

    The last parameter in the list shouldn't have a comma after it. Should be
      borderColor: 'ffffff'
    };
    SM.flash.insertSlideshow(743,495, ssConfig, 'transparent');

    I have no idea if that's causing the problem on IE, but it should be corrected. Hopefully that's a start in the right direction. I can see your portfolio page, can't offer any suggestions there.

    Can't get gallery slideshow to start in IE
    ***EDIT - updating flash version for IE cured the issue***

    I apologize if I missed the details but I am unable to get the gallery slide show to load in IE. In Firefox I got a message to update my flash player in IE - nothing ne_nau.gif

    Specifics:

    IE version 7.0.5730.11

    Adobe version 7.0.9

    Not sure what other info you might need.
