Lee, it's not uncommon for these softwares to have updates that change things. Try setting www.smugmug.com as a trusted site?

    Yaaa,,,,,
I got the gallery slidshow to work after updating the flash player TWICE.
The slideshow button still doesn't highlight when cursored over, but it does work.

It won't change on hover - it can't anymore due to the fact that it's now executes the flash show.

Well that is just plain bizarre. I shut down my firewall, and sure enough, things worked.

Are you sure nothing changed with the javascript? Why are photos blocked when accessed via this javascript, and not when using other styles?

Only SmugMug style uses javascript the other styles don't. You should be able to allow or "trust" SmugMug with your firewall, yes?

The McAffee firewall software (ver. 9.1) wants that as a single IP or an IP range vice a domain name. What would those be for smugmug.com?

Our current IP address is 63.81.134.23 but you should be able to put in www.smugmug.com or *.smugmug.com thumb.gif not the IP.

    Still does not work.
I don't use any javascript (to my knowledge) that targets these.

The symptoms are really strange too: not only does the slideshow not show up, but the button doesn't seem to be receiving a click. It's as if there is no onclick defined. When I click on any URL, my machine is set to make an audible 'click'...it does not click when I press the slideshow button. However, my cursor DOES change to 'clickable' when I mouse-over the slideshow button! Just nothing happens when I click! Weird!

    - Gary.
I'm jumping into the fray a little late here. I was in Vegas for a week at WPPI and I come back to all these changes! But I'm not complaining, I love the idea of the slideshow, if I can get it to work.

I previously made my own post about my slideshow problems, not realizing there were 46 pages of fellow smuggers doing the same in more organized fashion on this thread... sorry about that!

I'm having the same symptoms Gary described about the button being unclickable. Here are my details:

Doing this both at home (wireless cable connection) and at work (something really fast and not wireless). Both machines running Win XP, though the work computer is quite a bit older. I've read some people posting about "Visitor View" but I haven't found that yet - where is that? Anyway, I create my own VV by using Firefox logged in and IE7 logged out so I can see both views. Therefore not sure if the following issues have to do with browser or logged in/out:

IE7/logged out - nothing happens when I click the slideshow button. No green or black square, no click noise... nothing. But mouse pointer turns into a hand on hover, so it seems to know there is a link there.

FF/logged in - button works fine.

Direct link to FFSSSS - if I cut and paste the link in either browser, also loads and works fine.

HOWEVER. When it does load (ff/logged in/cut and paste link) it seems to get stuck before finishing the slideshow and thumbs do not load - just black emptiness after the thumb of the last successfully diplayed image.

    Direct FFSSSS link: http://loribrueseke.smugmug.com/photos/swfpopup.mg?AlbumID=4494537&AlbumKey=SkMvo

    Gallery link:
    http://loribrueseke.smugmug.com/gallery/4494537_SkMvo#264526177

Haven't tried other galleries. Was trying to send this one to a client, so naturally I am obsessing over that one.

    Other feedback:
Can I add music? Does it have to be fullscreen --? there's a flaw when your screensaver kicks in. I kinda like it in a browser window.

Great job guys! I don't envy your jobs right now. Thanks for the tireless effort!clap.gif

I had a problem similar to this. Move then 200 photos in gallery and
wouldn't run. Moved some out to get to 198 and worked. Seemed like a
    <200 limit to me.

    ATTENTION Slideshow folks

We just pushed out a bug-fix release of the full screen slideshow. We are hopeful that this addresses the non-clickable buttons, and black screens that some of you were getting in IE7, and in some cases, other browsers, too. We're chasing down some homepage slideshows that have a small (thumb sized) first image - might be related to a feedURL if you use that. If you have that pls report it here.

Please let us know how we did? ear.gif

Oh and thank you ALL for your patience and support, and for not stringing up me, Shizam, {JT} or anyone else :D

Y'all are the best customers, really. Thank you.

Appears to have fixed all my problems. The blank screen and green colours after exiting the slide show have all disappeared. Thanks for the fix! thumb.gif

    Andy,

I've tried the slideshow in several galleries and styles and it has worked in all cases. Appears you all have done an excellent job in resolving so many different issues. You and the staff are to be commended on the fine job you do. This is just fantastic.

Much better! It mostly works, but still some glitches.
The first one or two pictures are not full size, then it corrects its self. If you go back to the first picture it will still be smaller. Either the "press escape..." mesage or the gas gauge is off center, no biggie.
My Animals Gallery which has many pictures is still locked up.

I still would like to see the mouse and thumbnails disapear after the time of no mouse movement like the play buttons, and then center the picture of course.

Details please - what does "no love" mean?

Gallery, where it happens. What, exactly, happens?

    Have you tried here:

Have you tried completely clearing your FF2 Cache, closing and reopening?

Im using my work laptop - running Window XP, IE6 and Flash player 9.0.16 - the slideshow button on my gallery page acts as if it is disabled, it won't allow me to click it.

It was click-able before, but the slideshow did not work

I use Vista and IE7. The smaller first picture issue happens in almost any gallery. My site is listed below. Sometimes going away and back again corrects it, but can also cause a blackscreen and stall. Try this http://www.dennismullen.com/gallery/3120742_VFxEQ#219945421

Hi Dennis, it's working perfectly for me in IE7 Vista, so please tell me some more:

    1) what flash version do you have? Check here, in IE7 Vista: http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=tn_15507

    2) what happens if you view the gallery like this:

    3) what happens, here:

    1. Flash version Win 9,0,115,0

    2. The same problem happens.

    3. The first time I clicked on it I got a black screen, but leaving and going back, it seems to work fine. The first picture is fullscreen.

Tried at home this morning: Both FSSS and Homepage SS worked perfectly. (Vista Home Premium SP1, 2.0.0.12, Flash 9,0,115,0)

At work: Cleared Cache. Homepage slideshow loaded splash image, showed loading progress bar, then loaded first slide and froze up. Cleared Casche again, homepage slide show did not lead. Tried FSS on my galleries and other links you've posted this morning--all gave me the black screen of death, which is actually worse then I was getting previously wich was FSSS starting, but skipping images and ultimately freezing.

Work Configuration: Win XP SP2, FF 2.0.0.12, Flash 9,0,115,0

Dennis, can you try disabling AVG and restarting IE and trying again?
