I'm glad you gave such advance notice - I just NOW read this thread! I'll be at a "meet-up" with photographers from another forum that weekend, so I'll definitely be shooting! Neat idea!
I'm in
Count me in. Our annual car show is that weekend and I'm shooting the vehicles as they come in to register. (Little did I realize when I took on this job how swamped I'd be with Senior Pictures and babies. )
Don't think I'll get anywhere near a record shooting that day. 1700 seems to be my record/usual for weddings or other day long events with action.....not seeing that many shots of bumpers and tires coming.
Uhg!
Everyone help me out here and think SUNSHINE.
Weatherman says thunderstorms for Saturday.
I say SUNSHINE!!!
Between the two thoughts maybe I'll get some nice overcast.

I don't care what the weatherman says,
when the weatherman says it's rainin'
you'll never hear me complainin'
I'm certain the sun will shine...

Oh I totally agree...Love taking photos in the rain!! Must be my water sign..
You're only as good as your next photo....

Okay,
Yes, I know stormy skies are the best but... I don't have an umbrella...or how else does one protect his/her gear? (I'm new and this is a serious question) Also, I am planning on taking my kids out on the 19 to a festival and if it rains I won't be taking the kids therefore less of a variaty for cool shots for the day.
However, the "thinking sunshine" exercise has worked and the new forcast is looking good!!
I hope everyone has fun tomorrow and I am really looking foward to seeing all your results
"Whether you think you can or you can't, you are right."
I have been thinking about this non-official assignment and I really don't know what to do
A shame indeed.
I thought I could go and make some common/vulgar pictures of the day but I would like to come up with something far better.
I will not fake EXIFs changing the date of the camera. I will not do it. I refuse. Even if it rains cats and dogs.
Actually, it is raining here today and more rain is expected tomorrow.:D
I will do my best, that is for sure. And if I shoot 564 pictures I will choose, therefore I must choose the 10 best.
I am expecting to see very nice pictures here, from many good photographers.
Good shooting people ! Let's go !
Antonio,
I'm somewhat in the same boat as you are...we are expected to get the coldest weather we have ever gotten this late in the year tomorrow...and yes, SNOW is also predicted . I'll make the best of it somehow...
I look forward to seeing a vast diversity of photos....This is gonna be GREAAAAATTTTT *in my best Tony The Tiger imitation"...
Paul, just a question, when we post the 10 pictures are we going to post each individual picture in a reply message, in a collage?? Is there a "special" thread your going to set up??

Dear Friends
The day is almost ending here and I am very sad and disappointed.cry
In the morning I had to go and take care of my old mother with all her problems...
It was not raining but the day was cloudy with some showers from now and then.
I headed to a sports camp in the afternoon and I shot some pictures: 657 of them.
And I made some mistakes:
I changed from raw to jpg - 1.st error. (I wanted more frames per second)
and I made a compensation on the EV that gave me pictures overexposed by about 2 stops, in spite of the nice and well built histogram on which I was relying !!
I processed 5 or 6 photos and they were a shame for my reputation
All is erased at this moment and I am out of this round this time. cry
I'll be watching your work.
Thank you for reading these lines. Learn with my error.

Here's my 0.02 €. Paul, start a new thread for the pictures and related discussion, and link the two threads from the first posts. We could then put our 10 pictures in journey(ish) style posts.
shoot I need to read slower....I got my pics and will post the when your get the new thread up. I guess I jumped the gun...but I deleted my posts with the pics...bowing out as the fool now.:whip
PaulThomasMcKee would have to pick one of the worst (weather wise) April 19ths in recorded history for the pacific northwest. We've had rain, a lot of snow, hail, thunder, and a very tiny amount of sun. This Saturday it was snowing, last Saturday it was nearly 80!?!!
Great day to shoot!
Went out this afternoon/evening with my sister to shoot. Now it's time for processing! Looking forward to seeing what everyone shot!

How does that sound?
I second that suggestion.
