its been said before that its only post processing that is off limits...whatever you use with your camera to set the mood and capture the picture is ok as long as its your interpretation of the theme.

Me too. So many possibilities and I think I already have my shot pictured in my mind. Really looking forward to this and being something different, I hope it attracts a lot of people and we have the highest entry numbers.
In relation to the previous science geek stuff. As one myself, I can totally relate to those safety glasses. Very geeky.

Peter
It's not my camera's fault, I'm just visually illiterate
Hey GS are we supposed to interpret the prose that is posted in #10??
Thanks
Donna
PS: Good luck to all btw.
You're only as good as your next photo....
One day, I started writing, not knowing that I had chained myself for life to a noble but merciless master. When God hands you a gift, he also hands you a whip; and the whip is intended solely for self-flagellation...I'm here alone in my dark madness, all by myself with my deck of cards --- and, of course, the whip God gave me." Truman Capote
So I guess I am interpreting the poem by Poe that you posted in #10.
Next Question:
Do we need to post with the photo the verse/line of the poem that we are illustrating?

Nope. Let the image stand alone. This one is all out artistic interpretation.
Hey GS, just have say, I loved #9, but I really love #10.
You have given a sense of direction to entrants, but also left it open for artistic interpretation....VERY cool !!

Is that why you wear those glasses Doc? Protection from the laser beams?
(very old promotional photo for our grad program - old enough that I can look back and laugh, although at the time I made sure nobody saw this )

Me too!!! It was built off an idea from DavidTO. And I can't wait to see what you all come up with!

my wife would hit me about now if she were to read my comment....:D .....(she is the english major not me)
thanks D, i will get to figuring this out.....
Don't believe him. You know he's just sandbagging.
My daughter saw me reading and reciting the poem and suggested I check to see if there was "cliff notes"
