Re: If this don't make you smile, your smiler's broke
KED, Your always so nice about my shots. One nice aspect of shooting this kind of photography is that you get direct feedback from either the subjects, or in this case the parents. It really made me feel good that "mom" was just giddy over the pictures. It also may have helped with that feeling when she bought every shot… -
Re: Herman Miller Aeron Chair
Great question for this crowd! I went shopping 8 or 9 years and thought the Steelcase Criterion fit me better then the Herman Miller chairs. It also is indestructible! Sent it in for a checkup 2 years ago, no charge! None of these chairs are cheap, but your back and a lifetime warranty is worth it. You really have to try… -
Re: Can anyone suggest a decent Wide Angle Zoom?
For an APS-C camera, at the budget you specified, I think the best wide-angle zoom is the Tokina 12-24mm f/4 (model AT-X 124 AF PRO DX II). There is also a somewhat more expensive Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 model that is said to be even better, but I haven't used it. I had the 12-24mm f/4 for a while and was very pleased with… -
Re: filter for a Tokina 12-24
According to the primary distributors for Tokina (THK Photo Products): "[FONT=Arial,Helvetica,Geneva,Swiss,SunSans-Regular][FONT=Arial,Helvetica,Geneva,Swiss,SunSans-Regular]Tokina recommends using HOYA PRO 1 Series low profile filters with the AT-X 124 PRO DX." http://www.thkphoto.com/products/tokina/afl-00.html… -
Re: WTB - Accessories for Yashica Mat 124G
The camera I bought has a case, but it isn't here yet to see the condition. If it's for a Yashica Mat 124 or 124G it will fit....but it appears some of their other TLRs used a different winder configuration so those cases wouldnt work. Dig around Art and see what you find. In addition to the camera and case, I have secured… -
Re: Is there a single "correct" workflow?
When I click on the link I get a browser window full of text gibberish. If I right click on your link and begin donwloading, I get a file with a .txt file name - not a .cr2. I had no problem with the earlier link of two dancers. Katrin Eisman describes a technique for fringing in Photoshop on page 124 of "The Creative… -
Re: AGED TREE : First Roll On Leica M3: (1955)
Well, the camera & lens are 62 years old. since I'm 124 the outfit is half my age. (joke). I'm but 5 years older than the camera/lens. Gives me pause to realize that.... Even 62 years old I paid $1100 and that was a good price. It looks new. I saw a Leica lens on Ebay earlier today: The price - I kid you not - was… -
House Select Hockey
Went to the rink to practice some during an Under18 House Select League game. One of the parents asked me to focus on their child and they would buy shots after processing. This is my first set using LR4 and a different color correction technique I read about. I would appreciate feedback on the shots, processing and if you… -
