Uh-oh now I've done it. Here's 7 more shots in the mix. I have a really hard time telling which photo is the best as far as content, composition, etc goes. Take a gander. I caught some good moments this evening... I think. So I guess really what I want to know is which one is YOUR favorite?
this one, by a whopping margin. Makes me want to know "more", the shadow of the person, what's behind the door, etc. Nice toning job on the bw.
Good advice. I couldn't resist, had changed lenses to capture my "mock volcano" last night...no way could I have driven close enough for the wide to work--just wanted to share it. No cropping, shot at <blush> 160mm @200ISO 180@f9.5. Forgive me for clogging the thread.:cry

As cool as wheelies are, this one holds my interest the longest. The "1/2" on the address adds a bit of curiosity as well. Nice stuff. I'll have to blow the dust off my equipment and get back out there this weekend. I've been slackin...
The Optimist Revolution
So I agreed with Ginger that my last version of this looked fake. I think the reason was that I blended in a sky shot from the opposite direction that the foreground was shot, so the shadows, etc on the ground looked fake. I took a different approach this time and made a selection and then used my usual Dan Margulis tricks to darken the sky and increase its drama. Because it really is the sky in the shot, I think it looks more natural. Opinions?
For reference, here is the one with the sky blended from a different shot:

This my first & only free evening this week so I'm sorry I've been pretty bad at keeping up with the thread. Hopefully catch up on Sunday morning. Got a few pictures to get through too...

i'm shooting wide, too
spent the last two days, using only one lens, my 16-35L --- it's fun
here's a shot of the bay bridge in san francisco. not much there except the nice lines of the bridge. why b&w? becuase the coloring was kind of a puke -y yellow tonight.

Nice not to change lenses, isn't it? Now I need a wider lens, not gonna happen.

I still like this one from Tuesday Night, I straightened it. I am not cloning well these days, so am not interested right now in removing the electrical lines. But I like the marsh part along with the road part.
Sid I love the shot of the little girl in the ball park.. I'm wading back through all these great shots to see what I've missed!!! I'm also still searching for Rutts boat to compare... have'nt found it yet.Oh yeah... control that cropping urge Sidney... I have to control my blurring addiction..

I agree on that. One of my favorite shots since I have joined this place.
Yes, I couldn't figure out what there was to crop on the little girl:D Great shot, as is. Don't tamper with something good, particularly when you don't understand why it is good.
I'm having trouble uploading a pic to the challenge. Says "upload error, attachment only partially loaded". I've tried just about everything, changed the file, changed the location, changed the size.. nuttin works.. any ideas on how to proceed?? I thought you added pukey yellow to your pics on purpose?
Hi spock.. I really like this one.. (the full city shot) I think I would tone down the color or maybe change the color a tad but thats just my taste.. I'ts a nice wide angle shot I think.

The last one, the colors look fake. The composition is OK, am not wowed, though.
The other one, the bridge, the one Lynn mentioned, it is cropped too tight.
This IMHO.

I really like this gubbs I think I may have saturated it a bit more.. but I'm going through a high saturation faze at present..
