dare i say that GM's designs are getting quite nice looking lately.
they must have let the corvette designers out of the basement after all these years.

Am I the only person who sees that lists of names and thinks that the vast majority of those guys are going to show up with their collar flipped up and holding a red bull?

So even if half those guys/girls are passengers, you have what, 12 cars? Even if it's 10, that's a big group!

Tell me how you go on a spirited and fun drive with a group that big? It's the same way with motorcycles... I like meeting my advrider buddies, but that's just it - meeting, not necessarily riding together. Groups with more than 2 or 3 is a parade and quite frankly too stressful to be fun. Not to mention very conspicuous. So I'm just wondering because you talk up this route you guys drive, which is hella fun and twisty, and I'm wondering how it can be so. If you want to keep from being arrested in a group of 10 bimmers, you might as well drag up and down your main strip at the speed limit.

No that is just cars! Ususally a few people don't show up so I expect 15-20 cars which is the biggest turnout I've had. The drive we're going on is just a longer scenic drive and we aren't going over 10mph over the speed limit. After that is over maybe 5 of us are going on a more spirited drive.

Once the safe drivers are gone the rest of us are gonna get stupid and see if we can spend the night in the local holding sell and get our parents to buy us new cars to replace the confiscated ones.

The road we go on you would have to be nuts to go the speed limit. Seriously though 50mph is the max on that road and the limit is 55mph for some reason.

Okay auto nuts: 6-speed or 5-speed manual trans?

Is a 5-speed plenty for most normal humans? Is the 6-speed hype overrated? Is a 6-speed the next big thing?

Depends on the car I think. Some cars use 5-speed so they don't have to shift before 60 but some can't do that anyway so they go 6-speed. ne_nau.gif doesn't matter to me either way. Dad's MINI is a 6-speed if that helps.

I can tell you're a mac user rolleyes1.gifrolleyes1.gif 7 or 8 may be something in an auto, but in a stick shift you would never want more than 6, and if you're just using it for transportation you'd probably rather 5 so you do less shifting.

I'm sure he does on the highway. Just got home for easter break...sure is fun to drive my dad's new car (we've never owned a stick since I've been born). Tomorrow he'll learn me to start off on a steep grade without using the handbrake.
