What's that in the windscreen? If you look on the Eurovan in back, you can
see the same thing.
I think it's an old type of safety glass maybe? There's some polarization going on there as well. You can see it better if you shoot it with a cpl, which I didn't have with me.
I remember my dad's old cars having that as well, the newer ones don't.
NP. If you know what how to reupholster W126 seats let me know. I hate when places say stuff is compatible that isn't. The seats are the same except for ALL of the wiring. I'm asking on all the MB forums if anybody knows either how to swap the wiring or how to swap the leather/pads/springs. Ugh, the joys of life.
You know Richard, the thing I hate is when they make something "compatible"
by using "Y" connectors and wiring harnesses that are too long just so one
thing can fit four or five applications.

These are the same seats from the same car essentially, but a different year so every motor is different and the seat computer is different, it's totally different.. I agree, make it specific to the application, but the salvage yard shouldn't be calling it compatible. I've finally gotten the old passenger seat gutted of its electronics, tommorow I'm waking up at 5am and getting back to it. Now that I sorta know what I'm doing I think it'll be maybe 6 hours before I'm done.

The first time always sucks when you're trying to get something done.
Sounds like you'll be good to go in no time.

Well, first time sucked especially hard, but the second time (passenger seat done, now to do driver's seat), while at least I now know what I need to do, is going to still be sucking (first time sucked because I had to figure it out, second time sucks because what I figured out is difficult and time consuming....and i don't think there is a part of my hand I haven't scraped, or a nerve in my hand I haven't damaged. Just standing in the air my hands tingle and feel pain)
Rich, did I miss you getting your new engine in yet?
No. Yes, I am quite angry. There are no more excuses now, pistons have been at the machinst for two weeks. I don't know what's going on and communication has become like pulling teeth, though the guy doing the install still feels free to refer to the build on the net.
BTW, these are sorta before pics, though they are from a couple years ago so this is actually better than before, plus there were two holes in the left side bolster of the driver's seat you can't see, and all those creases in the passenger seat are not creases, but cracks.
Oh, and my car smells like Lexol leather conditioner. I'll have to drive all the way back to school with the windows open I think.
BTW, is it just the picture, or is that actually an old car with black paint that stayed in good shape?
5th 325. This is a 1989 automatic so it will be the quickest 325 I've owned so far. All the other ones were either the economy 325e and one 325ix.
The paint is in great shape and will look fantastic when I get it cleaned up. There are only a few tiny rust spots to deal with too. The first thing that is going is the automatic transmission. I still have the manual from Teh Smurf which bolts right up.

Zac? Hello! Are you ok? You're worse than me with all this car swapping
http://zwilliams.smugmug.com/
So no black 325 then?
Quite frankly, if you can get a 4.0 for it for $1000, I don't see why you would sell it.
