... The Tourist
Hello all.
Figured I'd follow the instructions for once and start at the beginning by posting here.
I recently got into photography through my wife and a group of our friends that are really into it. She's pretty much grown out of that group when it comes to the photography side, but I'm still down in the trenches.
To make a living I am a UNIX Systems Engineer for a local hospital, and in my spare time I like to do more of the same at home. I built my own site from scratch, and it shows that I'm not a programmer, but it was fun. Which will also explain the slow load times being hosted at home and whatnot.
I look forward to learning more about photography here, from what I've seen in my lurking there isn't anyplace anywhere near as good to learn.
And finally, as the thread says, here's one of the only self-portraits I've taken. (I know it's not a great depiction, but its what I got)
benvenuto Marco Ugolini!
ma sei italiano o oriundo?
adesso mi sentirò ancora più imbarazzata a scrivere in inglese! (faccio di quegli strafalcioni che questa settimana un mio amico di Shreveport ospite qui da me non la finiva più di ridere!)
So I stumbled upon this website on pure luck and Im sure glad I did! I really like how this forum is layed out, and some of the photography here is amazing. Anyway, heres my mug, bored on I-45 driving home from school. Enjoy!
A shot from last weekend, taken by a friend I was riding with in the Canadian Rockies. I love riding, and taking better pictures of my travels is what brought me here.
Hello everyone .....recently made my first post. Stumbled across this thread, thought will join in the fun. This site is awesome....thanks for sharing it with all of us guys.
It looks like most of the members are in US , are there any dgrin members in London?
Woops! Have been posting a little without introducing myself. I'm currently living in Hiroshima.
Nice photo of the Kintai Bridge. Make sure you go back when the cherry blossoms are in bloom. This photo was probably taken before you were born! Loads of things to take photos of in Hiroshima and sourrounding area.
I've been lurking around here for a while now, even participated in a few Assignments. I look forward to seeing what's new every day. I recently jumped back into the hobby and trying to re-learn everything all over again. Going digital makes things easier, but still a challenge.
This photo was taken by my daughter while we were visiting NYC last month. We were relaxing in Central Park. I don't have many candid photo's of myself. I like to stay on the other side of the camera.:hide

Cara Rossella,
Just little old me

I'm not quite sure what it is that you're asking....
If you want instructions on how to post a picture in a post here in dgrin, then check out the link in my signature. If you're talking about putting a picture in the banner of your SmugMug site, then let me know, as this is not the place to ask the question. I can move this to the support forum if that's the issue.
I'm impressed with all these photos! Hope to get there one day. Working on my homepage and changing it, a bit of a challenge, never anticipated this, was just going to put some pictures on this site but I'm all for learning
