It's very comforting to know that so many people are taking pictures of themselves while actively riding down the road on two wheels. Bonus points if you're in the twisties.

Let's see YOU!~
Names with faces, people. Dig out a picture of yo' self and post up. I'll go first.
Here I am in a newly-finished hat I made to pass the time last week. This is my "waiting to hear if I got the job" hat. In this picture, I like how the hat makes me look as if my head is quite h-u-g-e. Now, I'll be the first to admit for having a large head (big brains and all), but I'd like to point out that objects within the knits are smaller than they appear.
One day, I started writing, not knowing that I had chained myself for life to a noble but merciless master. When God hands you a gift, he also hands you a whip; and the whip is intended solely for self-flagellation...I'm here alone in my dark madness, all by myself with my deck of cards --- and, of course, the whip God gave me." Truman Capote
heyys, Kana here!~ I started photography not too long ago... about 3 weeks ago o.o so I thought I might be able to get some help and tips here when I found out about it =]
About 1 year ago I upgraded from a point and shoot to a Canon EOS 400D and in that time I have been learning more and more about all things photography to improve my abilities in realising a half decent shot. To date I have had mixed success using the two kit lenses but if nothing else they have given me some good grounding as to what areas I need to improve on.
While it would have been great to have decent glass at the outset I have realised that sitting on the wallet for a while was probably a good thing. Last month I updated my flash to Speedlite 580EXII and last friday I ordered from New York what I felt was a pretty good all round lens for me, a Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8 L USM Lens.
1 thing I had been missing in my photography was the sharpness that the kit lens just couldn't offer.
I will take the opportunity this site offers to take me to the next level in my learning and maybe will get an opportunity to share a few images in the future.
For now, no image of me as the camera is in getting warranty service on the built-in flash not working, have an M&M instead.
Maybe a mainlander but originally(left in 77) from Newtown. Greets to you to.
Hello everyone! I'm Nick from the Philippines. After 17 years, i bought a Nikon D40x and began shooting again. My last SLR was a Nikon F2. Its nice to be back shooting again. Hope i can learn from everyone here!
Well I joined smugmug and found my way to dgrin
Thought I better introduce myself
I'm an Australian living in Switzerland for 8+ yrs now (10+ in Europe).
Was 10+ yrs a canon person but have changed to the dark side and now own a Nikon D80 + 18-200 VR + (soon) a SB-800
Tempted by a 50mm f1.4/f1.8 for those indoor and low light photos but zoom is necessary at the moment as the kids won't bl**dy stay still!
Have an old Manfrotto 190B + 141RC tripod too (but not 100% convinced the 141RC head is what I need/want anymore)
Mainly an opportunistic photographer to capture my kids and our holidays but like to do some scenery and motorsport shots when i get the chance - basically I love to photograph pretty much anything - whatever catches my eye

I don't have any photos handy, you aren't missing anything.
I am a lifelong photographer, mainly sports, but digress to other stuff, every now and then.
We are people shooters, no birds and weeds.

I use a Fujifilm Finepix S5700 and a Gorillapod SLR, so I'm a strict amateur. Thinking of getting a few filters for it at the moment.
I've got a gallery at http://weather-eye.deviantart.com/ with all my main stuff on if anyone is interested.

And if you see Shania Twain over there in Switzerland please snap a photo of her for me
I don't have a 50 f1.4 but I have an 85 f1.4 and love it. They are both excellent lens but I use my 28-70 most of the time.

I'm "idleberry", or "idles", if you prefer. I'm a first year photography student in Scotland. I found this forum via photography-on-the-net.
here's a picture of me, I took a few months ago as a test for a self-portrait for a college assignment.
