As of right now, we have 5 spots left. More could open up if we have cancellations, and I will be finding out if we can get more rooms.... :D

BUT: no promises. Get your deposits in, and if we're full, I can waitlist you.

There are a couple of people, and I'm not naming names, that HAVE NOT gotten their deposits in. You know who you are (or at least, you should!), so get your deposit in. I respond to every deposit I get to verify that I have received it, so if you have not gotten a reply, that means I DON'T HAVE IT!

    First post updated as follows:

UPDATE 10/17/06: As of now, we have only one spot left. Please do not send any deposits without first checking with David Rosenthal about availability. We're looking into getting some more rooms, and we may have some people drop off, but we do not want to be receiving deposits for spots that we can't honor, so please check first. We will be keeping a waiting list once the spots are filled, so PLEASE let us know if you have interest. We do expect spots to open up for this trip.

Yup. I'm pumped. Yet another great adventure with the smugmug crew. wings.gif

I'll have to catch up on all the latest dgrin/smugmug happenings before then. I've been hiding in the woodwork lately. Recently the day job has turned into the day/night/evening/morning job. It goes something like this: :baldyumph.gifcrazy:hide.

It will be nice to get away from it all with the awesome smugmug/dgrin folks. I'll probably be driving up there, so when it comes time to talk about rides, I'll keep my ears open for anyone who would want to carpool.

I'll be flying, but definitely let me know if you're driving, I'll have a package that I won't be able to take on the plane, and may not be able to ship that I would love for you to help me out by driving it up!

    And there'll be a reward! :D

Yeah, I haven't decided myself yet. Driving means extra 4 days of just driving. Flying is only a few hours (plus a mandatory strip/cavity search of course:-).

I guess it's too early to decide on transportation yet, let's keep the options open...

I know Amtrak can be a very nice trip, but I just have this vision in my mind.

Dgrinners piled up in a boxcar like the Capitol One commercial.

Sounds like a wonderful trip and I can't wait to see all the pictures.

I'm with you Lynne. I think the train is the way to go. For those going west to east, its 16 hours from Seattle to West Glacier Park, and cheaper than flying.

Ever since I read this story in the Seattle Times I've been wanting to take the historic Empire Builder route from Seattle to Glacier National Park. This trip gives me the excuse I've been looking for.

    Besides, train photos are cool!

And, looking at travel sites (like expedia, travelocity, etc.) I'm not getting any hits from BWI to Kalispell this soon. BUT, if you fly to Spokane, Wa and then train to West Glacier, the train time/cost is 6hrs and $42 (one way). Not bad!
