But when I assign it to a community it does:
    http://www.smugmug.com/gallery/100455
    http://rainforest1155.smugmug.com/gallery/100455

This is inconsistent in my eyes. I would like to have my cobranding displayed not depending on having the gallery in a community. If I don't want to display my cobranding I can still disable it via CSS or choose to hide the owner.
But I can't force to have it via CSS when you disable it as a default setting when accessing the gallery without my subdomain.
Also I don't have control over which URL google is using - sometimes google adds the rainforest.smugmug, at other times it takes just the smugmug.com. That's why I would like to have full control over this. mwink.gif

So, I actually had to do this for myself again, to see it in action. If you choose, in gallery customization, Community Appearance>Community - your gallery will have your customization, unless the community has a it's own customization. If you hide owner, there's no breadcrumb and nobody but YOU will ever know if it's in a community or not. If you choose in YOUR part of the settings, Appearance=Custom, and Community appearance = Custom, then, in the breadcrumb if your are viewing the gallery on YOUR site, YOUR custom look is shown - if you are viewing the gallery on the COMMUNITY site, you'll get the community look.

    Does this help? :D

Okay, I figured most of this out so far and can follow you even if I hadn't the chance to check all variations out. My issue stays valid though, because I don't want to put all galleries in communities.
But I want ALL galleries under ALL circumstances (not depending on what address the user is using) to have my cobranding except when I explicitely specify to hide the owner. Currently this isn't completely under my control as of the issue with normal galleries accessed through smugmug.com without my subdomain.

Can you acknowledge this as a bug? If not what's the idea behind this feature? In what way do we as a customer benefit from this? I only see the downside that I can't control which link google uses - rainforest1155.smugmug.com or just smugmug.com.
I had quite a few hits coming from smugmug.com/gallery/xxxxx on statcounter, but they weren't logged completely, because of the missing cobranding on these sites.

Am I making myself clear or is it getting even worse? headscratch.gif

    Thanks,
    Sebastian

I'm having trouble sorting my categories... the arrange box is "oversized" and in the way, I can't select the category I want to move. Usually resizing my screen will move it out of the way, but that isn't working either.

What version of IE was that? I'm guessing IE 5.x which we no longer support, as of June 30, 2005

    I've asked - awaiting answer. IE6 is supported fully - maybe it's a Window2000 thing?

Something is wrong with the single image view in combination with the Spoonman theme in IE6 - look at this + here's a screeny if you can't see anything wrong with it.

Error when in Large photo mode
I have found what I think is a bug. My gallery is set to Smugmug & I am viewing the photos in 'Large' size. When I go to click on next to go to the next photo (& the new thumbnail pops up) I then get an IE error message that says 'Internet Explorer cannot open the Internet site http://shimmerimages.smugmug.com/gallery/894413/1/40559640/Large Operation Aborted'

This happens on this photo & also on others BUT the new photo still shows up (although when I close the IE pop warning box the page then displays 'This page cannot be displayed') When I have repeated my actions the same thing happens, but not always on the same photo- looks like an intermittment problem?

Is the new thumbnail feature causing this?

I turned image previews off for you with this code:

    showImagePreview = false;

    It's in your javascript...

I couldn't recreate the issue in FF or Safari. I will report this to JT. Thanks!

EDIT: FYI I was able to see this on my site in IE too, so you are not alone.

2nd EDIT: Joffun, your concert photography is *mint* clap.gifclap.gifclap.gif

Thanks - I see that Flying Dutchie has had the same problem & he appears to have got round it by switching the thumb preview off as well - see this thread:

BUG: Ordering multiple prints on IE6.0
    This happens only under IE6.0

    1. Go to a gallery.
    2. Click to order multiple photos.
    3. Select some pics.
    4. Click "next >>".

    What happens next is this:
The screen goes a little dark (overlay of a dark finegrained pattern, i guess). That's it! Nothing else and it stays there.

But, a scroll bar appears (sometimes two of them, one horizontal, another horizontal) and you can scroll down a little. Then you'll see the "Adding/processing Photos" dialog with the rotating cogs (if still adding) slowly scrolling up.

Under FireFox this dialog appears in its normal spot (a little below the top of the browser-window), but under IE6.0 it is positioned beneath the bottom of the browser window and the user needs to scroll to be able to see it. Many users may just give up and not buy prints.

    Can this be fixed, please?
I don't think that this time it has anything to do with my site's customization :D
I can't grasp the notion of time.

When I hear the earth will melt into the sun,
    in two billion years,
    all I can think is:
"Will that be on a Monday?"

Anton, please try the same on

I was able to buy multiple photos in IE6 just fine on your site. Perhaps clear all your cache, cookies, check your browser settings, etc?

Clearing the cache worked.... I can see the dialog now. Thanks!thumb.gif:D

But i wonder why clearing the browser-cache fixes this? What if a viewer encounters this issue? (S)He does not read DGrin and will move on.

I attached a screen-shot of when it did not work (note the scrollbar on the right: It is scrolled down, and it scrolls only the 'processed: 28 of 28' dialog, not the entire screen).

They don't get the same as you got. Otherwise we'd have had a zillion help emails on the subject :D I think it was a local issue for you, Anton.

You're right about that. The helpdesk would know! :D
It's not a issue that occurs a lot.

BTW: I got this issue when re-ordering my pictures with the cut-off signatures. Smugmug was great about refunding and allowing me to re-order. Thanks again for your help.

I'm going to have some dinner.
    Have a great weekend!

Notice anything wrong with this?? Yup, the camera's name is spilling out all over the place. This screenshot is minor compared to what its doing in Windows IE with a screen resolution of 800 x 600 in Smugmug style. That makes it worse by putting the entire image below the thumbnails. This just started happening after SM changed some fonts around a few days ago. How do I fix this, besides turning off the camera info or decreasing the font size, because before it worked just fine & any runoff was pushed below, so it all fit.

Here is the link if you wanna check it out with your setup. Thanks.

I'll report it Kerry. For now, you can turn camera details off in your gallery settings if you like.

    .smugmug_small #exifCameraModel {
    white-space: normal;
