That car is riding VERY high. He has an all around hydraulic suspension so when it had been on a lift for a long time it stretched out. Eventually it goes back to like 2.5 inches lower than that, and mine will be a further 1.5 inches lower.
Ok. I'll wait 'till you're done.
I will say I do like that body style though. For me, it falls into the timeless
category--meaning even 10 or 20 years from now, it will still look good.

Yeah, it really is the best body design I think, the next best being the W109, especially this one http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mercedes-Benz_300SEL_6.3
but the thing is those are so old they are missing a lot of the worthwhile technological advances.
Actually, the brochure for my car talks about how it is designed to not just look good under the current trends but also in future decades.
Wait till I'm done to judge the wheels. They definitley aren't for everyone though. As my brother said "with these wheels you will find yourself equally at home in North Carolina and the south side of Chicago"

Well...I'll reserve judgement. But that's kinda what I was thinking too.

Picked up Whitey today
So today my brother and I made the 5 hour drive down to CT to pick up the new 535i 5-speed. It was a great day and only drizzled the first couple hours.
The car was bought sight unseen so I had no idea what I was getting into. My first impression was good. The car was in the garage, the paint was shiny and smooth, and the owner was a CCA member. Everything worked great on the car and it doesn’t feel like it needs anything. The engine was powerful, he had tons of documentations, it came with everything under the sun, and it looked great. I couldn’t be more pleased
My car's engine was made to replace Olivers engine, so the specs are supposed to be identical 0-60 times.
He has 209hp and 220tq and I have 215hp and 214 tq
0-30 the Oliver wins it here
0-60 the Oliver was half a CL ahead of me but I was inching forward
60-80 in 3rd gear was dead even
60-100 starting in 3rd gear I started creeping towards the end
An interesting note; I got 24mpg average on the way back and He got 33mpg average. I think his computer is messed up though because EPA rated his car at 22mpg highway.

You know, I don't love white cars, but I have to say, Oliver's car looks cleaner and better than yours at the moment.

I wouldn't doubt if the 535 got more than the EPA mileage, especially on the highway. My mom's 325 averages near 30mpg, consistently. I don't know for sure, but I'm pretty sure the sticker says in the mid to high 20's.

Yeah, Olivers car would look cleaner since it has been washed and sitting in a garage for weeks. Mine on the other hand just drove 200 miles in rain and salt, then another 200 miles in the dry sun. Do the math
I asked around and the most anyone else is getting with that engine is 20-25mpg highway. I concluded that his OBC must be off and I found procedures to re-calibrate it.

Teaching your little brother to street race. Me thinks someones dad needs to give him some learnin :smack. Also I gotta say you need to make some modifications to your car, cause if your little brothers car can take you, you will never hear the end of it.

I agree street racing is really stupid but its not like it was some violent random act of it. We called each other up on the phone and decided exactly what we were going to do, waited for there to be zero traffic, and did it. Nothing bad happened and we didn't go that fast.
I'm currently looking for a 4.0L engine to swap into mine, that should take him with no problem. An extra 60hp and 80tq never hurt anyone

Accidents happen, so don't ever think racing (on the street or anywhere is safe). Besides if I really thought it was that big of a deal do you think I would have mentioned how it's really bad for your little brother to be faster than you....

No, that's a nonsense amalgam of AMG symbols. It's an old school (IIRC late 60's, maybe into the 70's) AMG symbol, though when they had that symbol they were just using MB center caps so that symbol would have never been on a wheel. Plus, that symbol is wrong. Notice how before AMG it has the stripes? Back when they were using that as their symbol they weren't putting stripes before the letters.
Then they made these caps
But they're too small for my wheels (ARGH!)
And what goes on my wheels are the caps you see on my car
Nope, can't see them because they are on bimmerforums and to see images on bimmer forums you have to be logged into the forums. I do have a sign in for those forums so just give me a link to the thread.

That's odd...my 3 series get's 12-18 mpg. :D:D
Speaking of which...when are you going to become a CCA member, hmmm?
I said the same thing about Oliver's car being better looking when he first showed pics of it.
I asked around and the most anyone else is getting with that engine is 20-25mpg highway. I concluded that his OBC must be off and I found procedures to re-calibrate it.
I've been a CCA member for years... Thinking of someone else?

Psst, and let me know when you want to pick up the Rockster...don't want to get banned!
Now personally I'm a 6-series guy trapped in a Corolla bank account.
Yeah, you know what, it was someone on the MB forums I had been giving a hard time to join MBCA, my mistake.

It's just temporary, until I get my original center caps painted...unless when I see these I decide I like them more.

edit: can you see them? I just realized they might not be hosted properly. They are the same wheels you posted a few pages back that you painted blue.
