    Seymore,
Yes, this has changed for new photos indeed. All the details are here:
    http://blogs.smugmug.com/release-notes/2008/02/08/smugkeys-unlisted-and-lock-it-down/

You can also see the keys needed now in your gallery urls, like the link you provided if you click on the photo.

Thanks... I had not seen this and appreciate the info! thumb.gif Ummmmm... any chance the whole syntax could show in the address line?

It it my imagination that things seem to be getting more complicated here @ SM? headscratch.gif Sorry to see this! :(: BTW, K.I.S means something in my book...

Also, check this type-o... "of" should be "off"... may want to correct it:
It automatically makes the gallery unlisted, turns of SmugIslands and external linking

In Lightbox view you get the image ID together with the needed key, it's just a click more and I'm sorry that we had to complicate things, but I hope you understand when you read Don's and Baldy's thoughts on this. Their posts are linked from the release notes.

Thanks for pointing out the typo, I'll make sure to get this corrected.

Well, some of us (and dare I say many?) don't use Lightbox. I have, and use, what I need for creating/viewing images. And it works quite well for me I might add... IMPO, I don't need more clutter on my machine.

I didn't read their notes, but will now. Thanks again for your help and feedback... and you're welcome for the spell check. thumb.gif

For those not using Lightbox there are two other possibilites:
    - share photo button - it's old school, but works
    - right click / properties will give you the whole direct photo link :)

    smugmug login problem
I have been having a problem lately where I login successfully but then when I click on my "galleries" link at the top of my page, at the bottom it still says login and I cannot see my private galleries. If I click the login link at the bottom of the page it tells me I am logged in. Then when it redirects me to the page I was on, I am still not logged in. Tonight I cannot get past this and I have tried for 20 minutes. In the past I could go to my control panel and then it seemed to recognize that I was really logged in. Right now nothing is working. This has happened to me using Firefox and IE during the day and at night. What's up with this?
    Thanks,Pissed.gif

Which one of these are you using when you are doing this?

    http://www.shawnaseto.com
    or this
    http://smhs-images.smugmug.com/

The link in your sig links to the second one even though it reads the first one.

On any of your pages, whether on either link, domain or nickname, any click
on your nav will switch to the domain one.

Change you nav links in your header to relative like this and your domain or nickname will stick, however you enter your site.

    login problems
Thanks Andy and Allen... those tips seemed to work. I read that other post. So are you guys still working on a fix? In FF it works only using my smugmug nickname and in IE it works as it always has. BTW when I had the problem in IE it was at work and its a old version of IE.
    Thanks Again!rolleyes1.gif

HTML error in the password page
The password prompt page has the following HTML in it:

    <a href=\"/help/cookies\" target=\"blank\">Here's how</a>

which makes an invalid URL for you to click on.

    Statistics not updating?
I think I am only seeing updates to thumbs, but my conversion ratios are on the floor, something's not right. fmedina is my smugmug account id. I know this problem has happened before, are stats being logged even though they are not reflected on graphs?

    thanks,

    thanks,
They are updating just fine. I just hit this image http://fmedina.smugmug.com/gallery/4341719_NGYWX#254721668

and all the counts went up for each size I viewed.

It's related to the other maps problem and Dev's working on it. We seem to choke on some characters in captions.

Could you give us a direct link on where you're seeing this? Also a screenshot of your whole Firefox window would be helpful.

    Only happens when logged in.
Happening on all pages logged in on three sites using Firefox 2.0.0.12.
Installed Firebug in Flock and don't get error logged in.
My conclusion is it's my FF browser only. Cleared cookies and cache and java.

Edit: uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox 2.0.0.12 no change, still getting error.

Quotes Around Keyword Strings Not 'sticking' in Customize Gallery
It appears that when you append strings of keywords to galleries, using quotation marks, that string is saved as a keyword, but when you come back to "customize gallery' the quotation marks are no longer there.

When adding keywords to photos, the quotation marks 'stick'

Tested and verified behavior on FF and Safari on os 10.5.2 when logged in

Noticed the same other day on the customize gallery page. Any multiple word
quoted keyword added is not there when returning. This happened in a bunch
of galleries. Was going gallery to gallery using BZT and after going into
customize gallery to change to allthumbs I would add keywords.

Here is search for [richard spooner] (no quotes used in the search box):
    http://horses.smugmug.com/search/index.mg?searchWordsShort=richard+spooner&searchType=InUser&NickName=horses

Interesting thing there is that a gallery comes up that doesnt have richard spooner in any way listed in the gallery keywords. "Richard Spooner" does show up on a photo or two in this gallery, but it was my understandingt that this would not cause a gallery to come up in the search results.

Im trying to bring up other examples, but I am finding that right now when I append gallery keywords, and then go back to customize, all the keywords, regardless of quotes are gone.

Before the words would be there, but the quotes would be gone.

ShareGroup deletion requires page reload to show results
This is minor but I think I accidentally deleted a ShareGroup when I didn't mean to...

When I delete ShareGroups in Mac FF (2.0.0.12), a deleted ShareGroup shows up again after the page reload. I have to manually reload the page another time to get it to go away. I think this accidentally led me to delete a ShareGroup that I didn't mean to, thinking it was the one I had just deleted that wouldn't go away.

Minor, but I thought I'd mention it...
