Missing buttons in IE
When I'm logged in and go to a category and I hit the link to Edit Description on a gallery, I get the following screenshot. Note that it has a place to edit the description, but the save and cancel buttons are AWOL. This is Windows Vista Home Premium with IE 7.0.6001.18000. In Firefox 2.0.0.13, the buttons are present and work fine so this is just an issue for me in IE. I have tried clearing the cache and no difference.

I went there, logged in as Admin, and see the problem. But I cannot replicate on my internal system. Can you see what happens if you have none of your customizing there? It's very odd, the breadcrumb (homepage tools) aren't showing for me on your site in IE either.

I removed everything from the CSS customization (the CSS box completely empty) and the problem is still there. I don't have much customization at all on this account. I noticed that the "customize gallery" button is missing too. In fact, when a gallery is empty, there's no way for me to get to customize gallery in IE.

When I look at the HTML, I see the save and cancel buttons, but they aren't being made visible.

Can you remove ALL the customizing and try it? Or may I? (I'd put it back no worries).

Removing one piece from the head tag section made the problem go away.

The problem was caused by this line in the Head Tag section:
<*link href="http://andydemo.smugmug.com/include/css/pureSmugBlack-20060529152757.css" type="text/css" rel="stylesheet" id="pureSmugBlack" /*>

I have no recollection of ever putting this there and I don't know what it was there for. Given the name of the link (andydemo), I'm hoping you might know something about it or why it might have been there?

I didn't put it there <img src="https://us.v-cdn.net/6029383/emoji/ne_nau.gif" border="0" alt="" >

Glad it's sorted out!

PS: if you want the default theme buttons, etc, choose "SmugMug Gradient" as all pages theme in your control panel>customize tab

I don't think I put it there either. That's a mystery. I've often wondered why I see things loading from andydemo.

Thanks for the help sorting it out.

You are running the old show code that's no longer supported. None of the
new photos uploaded after the security update will run because they now
have a security key added to them. I'd suggest switching to the new code.

No gallery images
Hi,
I'm having the same problem. On my gallery pages, the thumbs of my galleries show up, but when I hit the actualy gallery, I get a black page with no images. Here's an example.

This just started happening today.

I just realized that it only shows up black in the "smugmug style" or the "smugmug small style"...and I have all my galleries arranged for non viewer controlled at smugmug style. When I changed all albums to "filmstrip", then I am able to view them....but I still prefer the "smugmug style".

Is this just temporary?

Thanks,
Joann:)

They show here. Try deleting your cookies, might be one that's corrupt.

Hi Allen,

I just deleted all my cookies and the smugmug style in the galleries still does not show...only a black page where the pics were.ne_nau.gif

Update...I tried it using Camino and it works there.

So I think the bug is only with Safari.?

Here's what else is wierd...I cannot view anyone elses galleries in the "smugmug" mode, but when changed to journal or filmstrip, it is fine.

I tried one of your galleries in Safari and it works for me. Since you are having problems with all galleries in Smugmug view (not just your own) and it is not a generic Safari problem (since it works for me in Safari), it is most likely that you have a cache consistency problem in your Safari installation. I'd suggest you delete your Safari browser cache.

Hi:)

Thanks for the suggestion. I've tried that and still comes up with nothing.
One of your links is black and the gallery one with the thumbs is fine. Maybe I should see if there's an update to my Safari. I'll try that next.

I love the new "Visitor View" button when I'm working on my site, but I noticed that when I view other smuggers' sites while I'm logged in to my own I see the Visitor View warning box:

Visitor View: what your adoring fans will see. Owner View.

Clicking on Owner View doesn't do anything (yeah, of course I had to check before I said anything), so it's not a security issue, just a cosmetic issue, but I don't think it's supposed to be that way? headscratch.gif

I've checked 10 random sites and the page nav and photo nav line wraps
to two lines. Using Firefox. The photo nav ends up under the page nav. A
slight browser width change and it unwraps.

Edit: see next post for another example of wrapping of #albumNav_top.
Edit: happens on every color theme here except gray and white.

A couple of bugs. Sometimes the first image doesn't load. Clicking on the thumbnail doesn't work. I have to click on a different thumb and then clicking on the first loads the first image. I noticed this a few months back but it happens very rarely.

Another, new this evening. The cart links load first to the left like they always did but now they stay left and under the page navigation (above the thumbnails) after everything is loaded. The cart links in my galleries should be left, but on top of the main image and the photo navigation should be on the far right instead of the middle. First time I see this. It's happening in every galleries. See attachment.

It happened when I reported the two bugs. It just happened again and was able to reproduce it with a different gallery. It's happening when I close my bookmark side bar while the gallery is loading. It's easy to reproduce now because I'm on dial-up and the gallery loads slowly but it happens on DSL if the timing is right. It's not a big deal, really... just reporting!

OK But please email us at the desk with the link to the gallery, as I asked, if you wish us to investigate this, Erick, thanks so very much.

I can't reproduce, on any kind of connection - and I have fast and slow connections, here.

urls in comments
Hi there, I'm trying to post some comments on my own photos as a visitor which works, but I can't get a link pointed from the name that I enter, using the "link" box. I've seen this work before with others though, so is this disabled lately or something?

Cheers.

So as a visitor, in the overview you select a photo and then hit "add comment". In there you have a "name" and "link" box. I put a name in the "name" box and a URL in the "link" box, such as www.google.com or http://www.google.com/ and I also put some words in the actual comment box, I enter the captcha code and there appears my comment, but there is not the link I entered showing up in the name, or anywhere else.

Not sure if this is a bug
When you go to buy an image and its needs cropping to fit certain sizes....there is not an option to move the crop around. It seems to be set exactly dead center on every image. Didn't it use to allow from moving the crop within the perameters of the image? Is there a way to get this feature if its not available? Thanks for your time.
